Screen protector options

Just ordered one from Amazon, will see now it goes. Only 10 reviews on it but all were favorable. Wasn't going to worry about putting one on but if it will help with fingerprints and more importantly keep me from scratching the screen trying to clean fingerprints off I think it's cheap insurance.

it's a no-brainer. thread should be titled "why the hell haven't you installed a screen protector yet?!?!"

Installed the amazon one a few days ago. easy install, great result. Doesnt show as many fingerprints and has NO impact on touch responsiveness.

There will be no issue taking it off. It's not really an adhesive back, it kinda suctions itself on. I had a piece of lint behind the screen when I initially put it on. I took it right off and reapplied.

Is it needed? No. I got it for the freak accident that you could never imagine happening. I just imagine something falling on it, or an idiot passenger touching the screen with something in their hands...who knows. One little scratch and I'd never forgive myself for not spending $15 on one!

Finally installed the tempered one and I have no complaints !!! $15 for good insurance against my teenage boys!!!

Can't have enough insurance against teen age boys!! LOL
First time I let mine drive my truck (Years ago) it came home with a dent in the door that NO ONE knew anything about!! Of course mom said her baby would never tell a lie! Yeah Right!

Installed the screen protector from Amazon yesterday. Very happy with it. Easy to install, looks and fits like it should. Tiny reveal line but unnoticeable unless you really look (See in Pic).
This is the one I ordered, Screen Protector at Amazon. Someone already posted a link to it and recommended it but thought I would throw the link back in again and also attach a couple pics. Comes with everything you need to install and packaged very nicely..

I had one ordered and received before I even got my truck. Haven't had a chance to get it on yet...too damn cold out.

If you have the recessed uconnect radio like me who already cracked one screen protector glass and misaligned another, it might be easier to unbolt and pop off the radio trim to put it on easier. I will be doing that for my 3rd one lol.

2 Questions:
  1. How is the screen itself with glare? It looks very glossy and with all windows and sunroof, I can see there always being sun and reflection.
  2. How is the screen protector for glare?

Cmerkert,
I haven't noticed any glare or anything adverse about the screen protector. Not that we've had a lot of sunshine around here lately but still haven't notice any issues with it.
To me it almost seemed like the screen was sharper looking or something, Then again that's probably just because I had to clean all the fingerprints off when I put the protector on!:LOL:

Glare on original screen is unobstructing. See pics with it on. Not much sun to compare but will post more on a fully sunny day.

Highly recommend! Just did mine and the fit and install was terrific. $13...can't beat that. I also suggest having a can of compressed air to blow the screen off well right before you install the protector versus using those stickers to remove dust particles.

The anti-glare/anti fingerprint one is $34ish. Has anyone tried this one and how is the anti fingerprint claim? I've not had any instances where I thought "Oooh - too much glare or reflection", but I HATE fingerprints, and that 12"er is a nightmare for me (makes my phone use really fun as well).
