I need some help. I'm having a really hard time making a decision on running boards for this truck. I really don't like the way they look period, but I do feel like having them would be convenient. If I had my druthers I'd get the AMP Electric running boards, but they are pricey. Would yall care to post some pics of yours if you got them. If so can you include the brand/model and price. Much appreciated.

Steelcraft STX300. There are so many to choose from. The struggle is real.

I'm attaching before and afters of mine since it's also white, and I too do not like running boards. Unless you have a 4x4, I just dont think these trucks are tall enough to need them. I have 2 littles ones too.

Go Rhino 4 inch. Love them. Best thing I did. See your local Line X dealer.

Save your money and get the AMP research power steps, they look clean and function very nicely. I wanted them on my last truck and splurged for them on this truck. I really enjoy them and so do my girls getting in and out of the truck. I m 6'2" and the stationary boards never worked for me, but the Amp power steps do. I would buy them all over again!

I don't really like the look of them but I do have them on my truck as I carry some passengers that benefit from them. They also block most of the rocks that get kicked up and help cut down on rock chips.

I picked up a pair of the Westin R5 running boards. So far, so good. They stick just far enough out to be useful, but they are not obtrusive either.

I have Westin Sure Grip black powdercoat on mine... it has a textured rubber surface (makes it easier for the wife even with high heels and my kids to get in and out of the truck even when the running boards are wet)

Like what others have said... too many to choose from... prices vary greatly too

OEM wheel to wheel side steps on 6'4 bed.

As mentioned, plenty out there as mentioned if you have the 5'7 bed. Not so many out there with the 6'4 bed.

For me essential as I have chronic back/leg issues. That 22 inch step down vs having the sidestep there at 13 inches makes world difference. If you have others/passengers that can't easily pull self up and in or the butt slide out--worth it. Speaking of the butt slide, will save some on where/tear of seat, long term.

At 5'8, it also helps me get into the bed when trying to reach something, thus I chose the the wheel to wheel so functional it helps and I like the chrome look.

Agree with other post, since you really don't like the look, to save up and get the AMP so you really don't see them except when they are needed.

I am surprised that a company has not popped up yet with power steps for around $600ish, they would definitely get a share of the pie out there---supply & demand. Heck even the AMP's at around $1100ish that is still some serious profit per set sold even after R&D (already done) overhead cost etc...I am thinking their cost per unit/set to make is $2-300 rest profit. <---the reason they won't sell them cheaper is because really no competition at this point for power steps...Ugh same reason most of us don't pay by the minute for cell phone usage anymore because others got in the game and brought the prices down to earth...sorry I digressed. Good luck with your search bowtechbob!!!

Mopar wheel to wheel I bought used. Easy Install, so far so good. 4196A6C8-3D1D-4A2A-8D42-4D9CDA3CEDFC.jpegD7B5002F-A7BF-4E1D-B7FB-E657EDD9D2A4.jpeg

I have the Mopar Matte Black Running Boards. Got them for $420 from my dealer’s parts department. They match perfectly and between them and my Weather Tech mudflaps I have no water spray kick up or chips on my fender flares or rocker panels.

Go Rhino RB10 running boards. Straightforward install (did it solo), rock solid, look great. Very happy! Plan on getting them line-x'd when I do my bed.

I’m looking into getting these. I thought they already had the bed liner coating.

Just curious, with the power steps retracted (pulled up) are they protected at all from big rocks when off-roading? Or are the steps the lowest, most vulnerable part of the truck even when retracted? I know they are not intended for rock-sliding, but can they take any amount rock sliding at all? Thanks!

Great question, they are not the lowest most vulnerable part of the truck since they are set at an angle. Other parts of the truck would make contact first, but if you are thinking about doing some regular rock sliding I would probably suggest something different. The great thing about so many options out there is that I am sure there are better options for rock sliding. You may want to give Amp research a call and ask the question. I hope that helps, good luck in your search.

I have these and like them OP.
Me personally, I wanted as much ground clearance as I could have, and wanted a "high and tight" look and feel to the boards.
I'm pleased with the RB10s.

I believe they have a version with and one without

Go Rhino 4" from my LineX dealer. Didn't like them at first, but they have grown on me. Plus I get lots of compliments on my truck so that has helped.
