I kept going back and forth as to whether too get them but I'm close to sure I'm going to go without....IMO the 19's look better without the side steps . I know they are for functionality not just looks to but 85% of the time it's just going to be me in the truck....kids are older & driving now and wife has own car. The drop down power steps would be ideal but for the $$$$ not worth it.

Added a set of ionic wheel to wheel stainless nerf bars . They are very practical and I think they finish the look of the truck and tie the chrome wheels in nicely. The ionic bars are made by Steel Craft even though RealTruck.com doesn’t tell you that do shop around a bit before buying.

I'm with some of the other guys, in that I prefer the truck without them, but I needed the functionality for my 5'1" wife and my mother that will be moving in within the year. I went with the Mopar black runningboards, although I'll probably sell them at the end of the year on here to opt for an 'off-road' pair. I'd like them a little tighter and tougher.

Those are the ones I was looking at and will get if I take the plunge. One question is longevity...the last set (not Ionic) I had on my old truck was touted as being "polished stainless" but started to rust around the step pads and welds after a few years. And all the brackets & hardware were turning to bad, flaky rust due to snow belt weather.

They look and feel like high quality bars but I guess time will tell. I did swap out some of the hardware with stainless steel instead of using the black painted stuff it comes with. If you get the wheel to wheel length ionics be aware that the rear most set of factory studs are not used and that a 2 piece mounting bracket is secured to the trucks body mounting bolt and pinch weld .

I've never once wanted running boards on a truck ... But really liked the way they look on the new Ram. Knowing my wife would be pleased didn't hurt my feelings either. I had the dealer add the OEM ones, insisted on cab-length style, before I drove the truck home the first time. You're welcome, Sweetheart ;-) Ram_3-23-19_2.JPG

It comes down to personal taste, but I am a huge fan of my AMP powersteps. Worth every penny. My wife asks to ride in the truck instead of the car because it’s so comfortable to get in and out of. ... and the steps are invisible.

But it is my understanding that the Mopar power folding steps will integrate in with the Uconnect menu (for manual deploy/retract), whereas the Amp ones won’t. Right?

.
But doesn't Amp have either a phone app, or a key-fob, that allow manual control of step deployment?
.

$1900 for Amp running boards seems a little excessive, but they are pretty nice looking. I may get those of I decide to keep the truck for more than a couple years, but for now I went with some n-fabs that were $280.
