Ride Quality w/ Off Road Package

The ORG with AS has Extra HD Shock Absorbers vs HD Shock Absorbers on non ORG with AS trucks.

I thought my ride with Air Suspension with ORG is a little stiffer than the test drives without ORG and I finally confirmed why besides the AT tires.

My build sheet shows "Extra HD Shock Absorbers" and when I looked up another truck with AS but not ORG the build sheet showed "HD Shock Absorbers"

The information from Ram is correct that states that trucks with ORG have "Off-Road Calibrated Shocks". I wasn't sure before I compared the build sheets, I just thought because of the Air Suspension they just raised the normal level 1", but they actually added "Extra" HD shocks.

Now I am convinced that it is a little stiffer ride with the ORG because of the shocks.

I’ll be ordering my Limited soon. I’m considering adding the off road package only to get the additional 1” ride height to accomdate bigger tires. Can anyone comment on the ride quality of the Limited with off road? Any different than without?
I have the 2019 Rebel with Air Suspension and it is a very nice comfortable ride. LOVE IT!

The ride is just a little bit stiffer than the normal shocks. The ORG uses Hitachi HD shocks.

You really get the best of both worlds for an extremely low price. You have a vehicle capable of going off road, or in any conditions, plus you have skid plates to protect the undercarriage.

The only time I notice the extra firmness is when I hit a quick abrupt bump, like a pothole or railroad tracks. It is a great ride though...

I'm finding the truck also has the perfect weight balance and perfectly matched Falken tires. I leave mine in 2wd all the time. Even in wet conditions, the truck does not lose traction or fishtail. I'm very impressed with the ORG driving performance. Of course, in heavy snow you would want to use 4wd.

I've driven a Limited without off road group and a Longhorn with Air suspension and off road group. Both had the 20 inch wheels and both rode great.

Hi All . I am busy configuring my new 1500 Limited , so far I have ticked nearly every box . I had the .ORG ticked then took it off . Now after reading all your glowing reports , I will add it back in .
Now wheels , I did put the 22 ‘’ on , but then did some tire research only to find that it is virtually impossible to buy a higher profile for 22 rims .
Also one tore dealer said the 22/45r22 were expensive.
Later I might consider KO2 s. 285/65r20 .
Has anybody ever tried these .

It’s not hard to find taller 22s - anywhere from 33x to 35x and lots in between are available from several manufacturers.

Not sure what “22/45r22” is.

Hi ... can't comment on the Limited with the offroad package ... but I have a 2019 Bighorn "North" that includes the offroad package and HD shocks (which are Hitachi gas pressurized) and mine rides a little stiffly and jiggly ... once again probably the gas shocks ... Regards
