Reverse tilt mirror(s)?

I wish there was an "on-demand" option. I turned it on for a couple of days, but decided I was better off without it. That said, there are times when it is definitely helpful.

Yeah, a toggle on the mirror switch would be cool, but it doesn't take that long to turn it off in Uconnect either. I played with the memory settings and trying to set the second setting to tilt the mirrors, but it was annoying because it stopped my music every damn time, and I found it distracting. I go back and forth on weather or not I have the tilt feature turned on.

I noticed this as well. Even the seat adjustment doesn't always go back exactly as it was, because after driving a bit I can push the memory setting again (while stopped) and the seat will move ever so slightly (maybe 1/2"). I think the position sensors just either aren't precise enough, or have sloppy mounting points.
After about 5/6 times in reverse my mirrors are so out of whack they not only move up and down but also side to side to readjust to the original setting. If I am the only one having this I better contact my dealer again about it.

Well, you're not the only one, but still get at the dealer for it, lol. I noticed mine kind of turn in after a few times back and forth. I'm always right at the limits of mirror travel with any vehicle I drive for some reason, don't know if it's because I'm tall, or because I know how to set them properly where I'm not looking at the side of the vehicle, but either way, mirror settings are always a pain for me.

After setting position 1, set position 2. They will have the exact same settings. select position 2, adjust mirrors and then press set, then position 2. this will keep all previous settings however now with the mirroe position change.

Yeah, I did that for a little bit, it annoyed me more than just dealing with the mirrors the way they were.

Anyone having an issue with the mirrors not going back to the original position? I have my reverse tilt mirrors on and after about 3-5 days i notice my side mirrors are completely out of whack. Even reversing 1/2 times causes the mirrors to become out of whack. I have to hit my seat memory to get them to move back to the original position.

The initial reason that I discontinued use of auto reverse tilt is because the mirrors are driven to full bottom stop making them totally unusable for backing. Would be more practical to have a user definable stop.

It would be great if you could program your mirrors regularly in drive, set them to memory, and them program them in reverse, and set that to the same memory position, so that each driver can have their own custom tilt mirror position.

Agree, but since I'm the only driver, position 2 works as my back up option.

I just wanted to update.

I am in talks with someone from FCA who is working with the dealer to attempt to Fix my reverse tilt mirrors from getting out of wack after tilting down. I will let everyone know if the issue gets resolved.

Thanks guys for suggesting this! My wife never drives my trucks, so this is the best solution for me! I'll set it when I leave for work. The mirrors on my F-150 were lower on the door and taller, so they showed traffic and the rear tires so I could back up easily, and I agree, the ones on the RAM lower too far!

I have the same issue. Sometimes it's one, sometimes both. It's not happening as often as it used to.

To clarify my previous response, my mirrors will stay in reveres tilt, and not come back at all. Most of the time it happens, I use the memory button on the door to make one or both go back. I've had it to the dealer, and both times I left it in reverse tilt so they could see it. I'm waiting till Ram comes up with a fix for the problem.

Are you planning on getting an official inspection? If you need any help with the servicing process, don't hesitate to send me a direct message.

Thank you for responding Jasmine. The dealer has tried to fix it twice already. Both times I left it in the reverse tilt position so they could see what happens. I have video of it that I sent them before I brought it in last time. I have another video I took after they fixed it so I can prove it's still happening. I've asked them to let me know when they have a fix for it. I'm not going to keep spending my time bringing it in if they can't fix it. On the Viper forum there is a private message feature, I don't know if you have that here. If so and you think there is a fix out for my problem, I can give you the dealers name and you can consult with them on the fix. Please let me know what I need to do or any info you need from me. Thanks. oops I just read again what you wrote and I see you said to private message you, so that's what I will do.

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for expanding on your experience. I am not a technician and rely heavily on our dealers for vehicle information. Thus, I can't necessarily advise on any possible fixes but I will document your situation so it is made readily available for further review. If you do end up going back or even a second opinion, let me know. I'd be glad to escalate a case so you'll have an additional layer of assistance on the customer care side. Very sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced thus far.

Same thing with me. They still get out of wack after reversing. Dealer tried to fix it but it doesn't work.

I've had mine two weeks now. I set them to tilt. My drivers side stuck in tilt several times. Dealer reset the software. Now my passenger side has got stuck in tilt twice. Haven't brought it back yet.
I just wanted to post an update. For a long time now, months actually, the mirrors no longer get stuck in reverse tilt. So maybe something had to wear in or some computer software had to learn. I will agree with what others have said that now they they no longer get stuck, they don't go back to exactly the memory position. So every now and them I'll hit the memory button on the door when I'm at a stop. When I hit the door memory button, another annoying thing happens, I lose the clock on the 12" Uconnect screen. The clock will not re-appear till the truck is turned off and started again.
