Would the cost have been less if you were upgrading from a 26gal to 33gal(additional brackets, sensors, harness, etc)?

Yes. Biggest ticket item that wouldn’t be needed would be the fuel pump assembly. That runs like $600 at the dealer depending on discounts.

As mentioned in this thread, going from 26 to 33 you can reuse your fuel pump assembly. 23 to 33 you need a new one as it’s not compatible.

Meaning sadly I really don’t drive unless I am going from here to North Carolina. Most of my current driving is in my turbocharged Accord.

yes it would be less, i had replace everything

did your truck have the brace already built into the frame for the third fuel strap? That’s been my hang up for not installing mine yet, I don’t have the cross member that is on the frame to mount the last strap so have been waiting for time to figure out a fix.

i am not sure if there is bracket for the strap i have attached the invoice what parts i paid for. i have not had a chance to look under the truck to see where the straps or gas tank installed. i was told by them that those are all the parts needed to retro a 33 g tank from 23.

o yea looks like they didn’t add the third strap to support the tank since they didn’t have you buy the extra strap. Tells me you don’t have the mount either

PorBoy, that's a real nice looking Accord. I do not know much about Hondas. Is that a new model and did you just get it? Or did you have it before getting your 2019 Ram? How much horsepower? It looks quick!

Thank you it’s a 10Th gen version and I picked it up in January of 2018. It’s fully equipped with all of their bells/ whistles. It’s wild as it’s a 10 speed electronic transmission paired with turbo. It’s pushing 300HP sadly through fwd and 19” ultra high performance tires. It’s a beast but you have to use both hands when accelerating that’s for sure lol.

Why Ford stopped making sedans!
Wife's 2017 Civic, 6 speed manual, 175 hp, dual turbo got 47 mpg with 100% gas high test on eco mode. Honda impresses me.

For those in need of serious fuel capacity, Transferflow makes in bed auxiliary tanks that transfers to the OEM tank automatically

Only problem I see is the closed system on the Ram, and some state and federal regulations concerning a transfer tank being connected directly to the vehicle fuel tank. Also, some state and federal parks will not allow you to park in any covered parking areas.

just to provide an update. i got the required equipment was getting to do update the past weekend the dealership called me on friday saying they have a fix and i need just to bring in the truck to make update. Basically they contacted chrysler and they added the sales code for 33 gal tank and made it a dealer installed option specifically for my vin. and it added around 120 miles to the range. one thing i noticed the fuel light turns on now with about 5 gal fuel in the tank which seems normal from researching.

Remember the fuel pump and level unit is identical. The tank is basically identical in height and shape except it’s just extended.

On the programming side they have the same fuel empty and fuel marks. So when you elongate the tank you going to end up with more fuel even when the level unit senses fuel is low.

Ever get a chance to add a third strap?
Not yet. I’ve been filling up only about 2/3 full. Once the weather turned, I put it on hold. How to get to it soon, now that spring is hopefully getting closer. I will update this as soon as I get it figured out.
