Received another Uconnect update yesterday

Screen off only does exactly what it sounds like. It turns off the screen. The radio is unaffected by this. The power button on the other hand turns off the radio, screen, navigation, etc. Think of it like a smartphone. Turning off the screen keeps everything running in the background. Turning the phones power off shuts down everything including the screen.

Mine does not shut down anything at all, it does exactly the same thing as the screen off button. If it was shutting down the radio, etc then it would show the power off and back on animations like when you turn your truck on and off.

Whats this method do??? Were you. missing the Sirius XM altogether?? What is the VR and phone button method do?? What is VR?? Thanks for the feedback!

I held the little face speaking symbol on the steering wheel and the phone symbol down while turning the truck on ACC(dont put your foot on the brake) holding them down for about 30 seconds or less and my screen went blank then came back on and everything worked? I think I had the door shut too. But I did not have to open the door again like the method suggested. All I know is it works now and all is well in the land of RAM for me again.

And I lost everything that required communication from satellite, Xm, Assist button, Guardian features, plus FM/AM and all the inputs and volume control.

I had to take my truck in for a recall and tire balance....while there they said it needed an update. Only thing I see different is the eq version. But it still sounds the same.

My Power button shuts off the stereo. Doesn’t yours?

Well then that would me more like a mute button combined with a screen off button. Without the shutdown and startup animations then it's not cutting power to anything really...

True that. But it may be that there are parts of the system that need to stay online (e.g. surround-view cameras, climate control, etc.) that prohibit a complete shutdown while the vehicle is running.

Only thing I’ve noticed is my full 12” screen backup camera doesn’t happen any longer... now it splits between backup camera up top and controls menu on the bottom.

Anybody know how to get the full 12” backup screen back?

I’m not sure my 12” Uconnect is on the latest software (2019 Limited), but when I logged in the website said I was, however the website acts like I have the smaller 8” screen.? Anyhow, it’s working to my satisfaction so I’m reluctant to have the dealer do anything to it. The GPS claims it’s up to date, but I find that hard to believe. I live on an island so admittedly it’s not a big deal, but to me I simply like things current.

Nothing I can do about features that require SiriusXM, as that isn’t available in Hawaii. I knew that going in so no big deal, but still sucks.

You know with the Siriusxm 360l if you just wait for it to say do you want to stream it works in Hawaii. I live on Oahu and have been using my free subscription for months. Basically you are just streaming everything. Check it out.

Mine always splits between backup camera up top and controls menu on the bottom since the day i got it, even after all the updated.

I need to get the update/recall, went to the gas station the other day, and when I got there, I noticed the back up cam was stuck on.

Thanks I tried it numerous times on my 2019 Rebel, did nothing for me. I appreciate the feedback. Will have to take into the dealer next Wednesday.

I got the new update too and it seems to have broken my system because now nothing audio works, the volume is stuck at 3 and it wont even log into XMSirius, Guardian or call using the Assist button. Update happened yesterday and since then nothing... View attachment 57589

Is anyone experiencing the front left speakers cutting in and out?

After this latest update I have completely lost my Sirius XM......I was hoping it would eventually fix itself but it hasn't. I have to drop it off at the dealer next wednesday.
