Rocky Road sliders.
Some idiot tested them today in the hardware store parking lot...
Her Rogue has a VERY nice dent in the edge of the door where she flung it open into the side of my truck... Rogue 0 Ram 1
No damage to my truck the slider took the hit.

Mine came off the lot with the factory black running boards, I absolutely HATED them as they hang very low and don't really match the style of the Rebel. I ended up slapping on set of Go Rhino Dominator D6 steps and I couldn't be happier! They sit much higher so they won't get in the way while playing off-road, and I personally think the style is much better suited to the Rebel aesthetics. If you like the style of these but want a version that's not as wide, Go Rhino also sells a set called the Dominator DSS. They're nearly identical to the Dominator D6, but about 50% narrower.

I made the mistake of ordering factory too. I knew I wanted them seemed like a no brainer. Do not buy one that has sidesteps from the manufacturer if you can

Very nice, how do those seem quality wise?

They feel like they'll be able to slide and support your truck?

Yes they will support the weight of the vehicle.
I jacked the truck up with my hi-lift (with tube adapter) when I installed them to see.
I ran a trail last weekend that I bottomed out the drivers side on a rock in a sharp turn and drug along for about 9 inches. powdercoat is gone there now... lol

Go Rhino Dominator Xtreme DSS Side Steps with custom step extensions.

I really like the design and that the mounting brackets do not hang below the rails. These definitely are not sliders, but they are reasonably heavy duty and may be able to absorb a sacrificial hit and protect the cab from damage.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, as delivered, these DSS are not an effective step. They are alright for stepping in, but the rail is too tight to the body to be used as a step when getting out. To address this I designed some custom bolt-on extensions. I am really happy with how they turned out. They now work great as a step both when getting in and getting out.
