Pretty standard among plenty of brands. GM, Hyundai, and VW explicitly come to mind.that must be a stupid FCA policy. I work for mercedes and Mercedes ext warranty covers the sunroof frames, panoramic roof frames (panoramic frames comes with a new glass).
You are incredibly lucky, grey market vehicles are pretty much universally unsupported by warranties regardless of brand. Why not add onto the pile.. just had my rear glass replaced under warranty. Took less than a week from my initial review by the dealer to them installing the new part.
The part they put on was 68426398AE
Also, the truck is initially from Canada and I did not expect the warranty to be worth a damn, but the dealer had no issue and the repair was fully covered.
Take the brake light back out and look between the cab and the window. You should be able to see the cracks where the water is coming in. Fill the cracks with your choice of sealant. That will stop the water until you decide to have the window replaced.2019 Laramie with 60,000 miles here with 2 cracks. One near each top corner of the center slider glass. Water drips in even with mild rain. Truck is beyond warranty. Still no recall or coverage by Ram/supplier after 104 pages/instances on this issue is unbelievable.
Confirmed it’s not the 3rd brake light by replacing the seal & pouring water on the top of the window but below the brake light. Anyone have a reliable DIY fix short of expensive back glass replacemen?
If you don’t use the back window have you considered installing the one piece glass? Not sure if it works or not but I would think that could be an option. I don’t see why the factory one piece glass used on the classic rams wouldn’t fit the big horn models or Laramie as they are the same.2019 Laramie with 60,000 miles here with 2 cracks. Do you have glass coverage through your insurance? I hate to be an advocate for fraud but if your back window shattered for some reason...2019 Laramie with 60,000 miles here with 2 cracks. Thanks. I tried a bead of flowable silicone across the entire top of the back glass last week but it still leaks (but not as badly). I’ll take off the brake light tomorrow & see if I can see the trim cracks to seal even more.Take the brake light back out and look between the cab and the window. I never had an issue with mine.Anybody that has had their rear window replaced have any issues with the Defroster. I didn't have any after the install (July 2020). This week cold weather started so using the defroster it work now it doesn't. Checked back there and sure enough wire came unstuck. Called and will have to bring it in for them to reattach. just a little curious if this has been an issue after replacements.
Those are the cracks a lot of owners are seeing when the leaks start. Are these the cracks being seen? 2019 30800km
There are also water stainsThose are the cracks a lot of owners are seeing when the leaks start.
I have had my backseats removed now for over a month. Probably gonna leave them out. made it easier to load my stand for my go kart when I take it to the track. The noise doesn't bother me. But I also have a leak somewhere back there and thought it would be easier to diagnosis it with the back seats out.Dropped my truck off to get the window replaced tomorrow. Say a prayer for me that they don't screw anything else up in the process. Hell I even removed my freshly katzkin'd seats and trim panel for them.
As soon as I get it back, I'm going to leak test and then sound deaden the back wall and floor.
It's insane. How much noise comes from back there. On the way to the dealership it sounded like my rear window was open.
