REAR WINDOW LEAK

All ..update …what a circus (2 ½ hrs. ..spoke with 3 people ..several call transfers just last night) to find the right people to handle the TSB 23-074-23 Fig 2 rear glass sealing charge reimbursement.

I had decided to follow-up last night on which would be my first case (new one today …different direction) because I hadn’t received a conformation of my email from them…glad I didn’t decided to wait.

The hope expressed earlier ..I found out that I was given the wrong place to go to submit my request/case for
reimbursement ..it went to people who handle claims when you have “purchased” the extended warranty, not a
manufacturing warranty extension.

Well, another call and another case # from US Customer Care [email protected] ..ah, maybe this is the right place ..the TSB’s are labeled Stellantis ..and the phone number given was provided was 1-800-992-1997 ..used to check on the case. This second case to US Customer Care, I asked, “will a conformation follow” …I was told , yes. As of this message, I’m waiting, but (and if it works) I have that phone number I can use later to verify status of my case.

Fingers-crossed ..I’ll update when I know something.
 
UPDATE ..are you all sitting down?

I received this message from RAM Cares this morning …victory ..checks in the mail… of course, check in the hand is better. It looks like being persistent when you know you are right comes down to winning. The $375 is not a complete refund...dealership charged $11.25 for using credit card ..that’s next to get back.

..and in conclusion ..

I asked RAM CARES for clarification on my coverage going forward on this reimbursement, since it’s associated with TSB 23-042-24 Fig 2 sealing. This TSB, like the other for the 3rd brake light, has an “extended warranty” mentioned.

They sent me as the record of warranties linked to my vin#. ..no mention of the rear window sealing, only the 3rd brake light.

I gather, while not said, they don’t want to admit the TSB for GFE and GFD is incomplete.

I asked if my case number would be in their system and linked to my vin# ..yes, and the case is closed, but the case will always be linked to my vin#.

I guess that’s as far as they would go. I was hoping for something in black and white, so if the rear glass links again...it’s repair and warranty would come up and can be referred to…or I get my own sealant😊

Next to address is a stupid email from MVP support @mvp.stellantisStellanis.com whereby, I attempted to point out that TSB 23-042-24 sales codes GFE and GFD were incomplete ...they didn't address any of the points I made ..only what cover I did or didn't have.

Ain't that a ***** charging 3% for credit card use. They did the same to me. First time I ever was charged 3% or any extra money for using a credit card. He said if I had a Debit card the 3% would be waived. It was like getting it up the rear with no lube. Espically for a oil change and filter that cost me $140.00. Then the diagnostic charge for the radio problem. Total $439.00 with the 3%.
 
Update today from dealership manager ...first, the code I was given GFEF was wrong ..it is GFES..not GFE or GFD as indicated on the TSB 23-042-24 ..and for that reason alone ..they say it's not covered.

My reply to him ..
I found code GFES (where it appears on my paperwork?)...it states:
a vehicle equipped with a power window sliding rear window with a defroster ..the GFE would indicate a power sliding rear window alone and the S added signifies inclusion of the defroster...the GFE is the base code.

Based on making the sealing repair of the glass ..there must have been an issue he saw.. a manufacturing issue ..related to the TSB.

I feel that you are in the best position to assist in bring it to the attention of Stellantis, Chrysler etc. The base code is GFE and what the defroster S code letter would do to disassociate the repair from the TSB needs clarification.

I ask you for help .. help me by contacting resources/contacts you have ..an area rep, Chrysler, RAM CARE to find out who has the answer why a power sliding rear window with defroster would be not covered? GFE vs GFES ..base is GFE.

Mike, I want us to work together and resolve this and not take an approach ..code is not there ..sorry, I apologize. I can’t do anything… ..it’s an omission and we both know it.
I'm in the same boat with you guys. Extremely upset about it. I bought the most expensive extended warranty I could when I bought the vehicle. I'm not certain it was leaking before the factory warranty expired but I wasn't in a hurry to get it in because I thought my extended was solid. Please let me know what I can do to help in this fight.
