I was told I had that same sales code even though the sales codes are supposed to be 3 digits and that’s why mine didn’t fall under the recall either. But it’s some bullMonday call to RAM Cares ..a total waste of time..pushes it back to the dealer ..repeats all of what I know..my truck doesn't have the sales codes GFE or GFD ..those codes deal with a sliding rear window ... which I have ..my as built was a model DT6M98 with a package 27M ..which consists of a power sliding window, Dealer indicates my sales code ..which I don't see on any of my paperwork ..my sales code is GFEF ,,which I'm looking for...my thought is the TSB 23-074-24 should have listed my code, if we're dealing with a power sliding rear window leaks. Seems to me we're dealing with the same issue - manufacturing - no matter what code is mentioned or omitted ..it's a leak. Does anyone know something about code GFEF?
Thanks ..too many mixes of pet meds that upset his stomack ..he's off them and is doing fineHope your pet is OK. I found configuration preview for mine says (DT6H98) Whatever that means
I hope this helps ..WOW thats interesting Manual Sliding vs Power sliding rear window. I just looked at the recipt for the recall done on my 2020. It only says brakelight not glass 6/11/21. Though the guy I bought it from. Said that when the light and tailgate piviot cup recall/Tailgate Latch Alignment recall was being done. They called him and said the rear window seal needed replacement also. He says they kept it for 3 extra days to have it fixed, but it doesn't say anything on the peperwork he gave me. All I see is SPort Apperance Package (AEF) and Off RadGroup (AWL) info. Then it says Bighorn/Longhorn.
Hate to say it these codes are like medical codes. Medicare has one set, and my City medical plan has another set for the same thing. Trying to reference what money went where is near impossible to determine hospital stays, Medical doctor and copayments.
The current TSB just tells them to put silicone around the frame of the window anyways, so might as well just buy a $5-$10 tube of silicone and do it yourself. Save the stress of trying to deal with a dealer who didn't want to help you.Update today from dealership manager ...first, the code I was given GFEF was wrong ..it is GFES..not GFE or GFD as indicated on the TSB 23-042-24 ..and for that reason alone ..they say it's not covered.
My reply to him ..
I found code GFES (where it appears on my paperwork?)...it states:
a vehicle equipped with a power window sliding rear window with a defroster ..the GFE would indicate a power sliding rear window alone and the S added signifies inclusion of the defroster...the GFE is the base code.
Based on making the sealing repair of the glass ..there must have been an issue he saw.. a manufacturing issue ..related to the TSB.
I feel that you are in the best position to assist in bring it to the attention of Stellantis, Chrysler etc. The base code is GFE and what the defroster S code letter would do to disassociate the repair from the TSB needs clarification.
I ask you for help .. help me by contacting resources/contacts you have ..an area rep, Chrysler, RAM CARE to find out who has the answer why a power sliding rear window with defroster would be not covered? GFE vs GFES ..base is GFE.
Mike, I want us to work together and resolve this and not take an approach ..code is not there ..sorry, I apologize. I can’t do anything… ..it’s an omission and we both know it.
Here is where I found it By Sales CodeThanks ..too many mixes of pet meds that upset his stomack ..he's off them and is doing fine
That DT number ..I think I saw one in my paperwork (way too much dealing with this)..do you recall where you have it shown. Thanks
Yes, it worked ..viewable..and I found mine ..same DT info ..thankslet me know if I did it right and you can open the PDF
Yeah, hindsight ..I wish I had had it..but, I figured TSB covered it and made a record of the repair so, if there is a recall ..they did the initial fix, not me, it's documented it's on themThe current TSB just tells them to put silicone around the frame of the window anyways, so might as well just buy a $5-$10 tube of silicone and do it yourself. I don't have a dog in this fight right now. The original window was replaced under warranty, just before it expired. I have purchased permatex in case the new window starts leaking because I already know our truck isn't included in the warranty extension. At this point I wont take the truck to the dealership if the window does ever start leaking since their repair is essentially the same as the permatex fix. I'd work with you on this but I'm not out any money, so I don't have anything to resolve. No one is going to listen to me about a problem I might have in the future.Update today from dealership manager ...first, the code I was given GFEF was wrong ..it is GFES..not GFE or GFD as indicated on the TSB 23-042-24 ..and for that reason alone ..they say it's not covered.

This was on another forum ..very interesting information .. regarding what the dealer said my power sliding window sales code was GFES...I don't have a dog in this fight right now. I think this goes hand and hand with what you say ..This was on another forum ..very interesting information .. regarding what the dealer said my power sliding window sales code was GFES...
The first three letters signifies the actual sales code of the feature. The fourth letter will either be S, P, or O.
- S means that GFE is Standard on the base model/trim of the vehicle build (no packages or options need to be selected for the truck to be equipped with it).
- P means that GFE was equipped because it was part of a Package that was selected for the vehicle build.
- O means that GFE was equipped because it was selected as a stand alone Option for the vehicle build (I don’t know if GFE was ever a stand alone option to select, but that’s what it means when the fourth letter of a sales code is O).
They can look at the build sheet sales codes of every single Ram VIN, and they will never find one for the rear sliding window that is just “GFE” or “GFD”, because they will always be followed by an S, P, or O.
In your case, you have a 2020 Ram 1500 Limited trim level. Every Limited trim level comes standard with GFE, and it’s not possible to NOT have GFE on a limited, so every Ram Limited will have sales code GFES.
I miss the 5.7 but I had far too many issues with the RAM this time around my previous 21 F150 did me well I hope this will do the samei just can't do a F1CHITTY
