2021 RAM with 11,400 miles - discovered mold under the Mopar rubber floor mats. Dealer tested and found a leak in the rear glass. They replaced it. Any pointers on getting the mold out?

Their responsibility, if it was caused by something repaired under warranty. I had a Cadillac ElDorado, that had a leak in the trunk, from a seam the robots missed on a run of them, that grew mold. They replaced everything behind the front seats. I'm talking all rear carpet, rear leather seats, all trim panels, trunk carpet, and all insulation. Contact Ram Cares.

Hi, I’m new to the forum. The class action lawsuit was dismissed today the FCA won the case. I just had my rear window replaced for the dreaded leak. I have possession of the rear window that was taken out of my 2020 ram 1500 rebel. Dealership made me wait 1-2 months after my warranty expired to look at it. They claim there is only 1 specialist in the area I live that can determine if it’s a manufactured defect. They did determine it was and needed to be replaced. They wanted me to pay them $200 for my window to be replaced in the dealership. I did not do that, I had it done in a glass shop. I will add photos for you all to see what I’m talking about. Please let me know if any insight. I’ve talked to a lawyer and there class action team wants no part of it. I seem to be at a dead end.

If it’s defective, there is an extended warranty on the back glass. You owe the dealer nothing .

Thank you for posting the photos of the old rear window. Is what I'm seeing in photo 0885, a crack in the upper frame and the lower frame? So both sides of the frame?

The suit was probably dismissed, because Ram extended the warranty o third brake light, and rear window leaks. They will reimburse your cost. Even when I infomed my write up, when I took my Durango in for service, and we were discussing this problem, she said "it looks like we will be refunding some people".

I paid for the repair in January ($1600) and when calling in yesterday and chatting with Ram Cares theyre telling me my 2020 Limited built in February 2020 isnt covered under the TSB/extended warranty. It falls into the date range, has the part that leaked, had the same crack in the picture of the TSB and FCA is still denying its the same issue.

"2019 - 2021 (DT) RAM 1500 PickupThis bulletin applies to vehicles built on and before September 30, 2020(MDH 0930XX) equipped with a Rear Power Sliding Window (Sales CodeGFE) or Rear Sliding Window (Sales Code GFD)." Pulled from the TSB.

We refer all customers who need to make a claim to call 1-800-423-6343. I would verify your coverage with your dealer or pm your vin and I can verify it for you.

I appreciate it, I gave them the TSB number and my VIN yesterday when I scheduled a supervisor call back yesterday when talking to customer care. Just talked with the supervisor 5 minutes ago and she let me know my truck should qualify and be covered. She apologized for the lack of knowledge from the customer care team as well. She submitted the reimbursement for me and I attached my invoice. Fingers crossed that’s the end of it and I’ll have a check in the mail soon.

Just providing an update: Got an email Monday 10/16 and it said
“Thank you for allowing Ram } Customer Care an opportunity to address your concern. Our primary focus is your satisfaction.

Upon thorough review and consideration, we regret to inform you that your request for reimbursment has been denied due to the following reason/s:

• The parts requested for reimbursement are not covered under the recall repair. xg1 >no diagnosis and repair of Lamp, Center HighMounted Stop Replace

As much as quality service is our concern, please be informed that there are certain guidelines and qualifications that we need to meet in order to grant your request.

Thank you for your utmost understanding. We look forward to your continued business with us, and we appreciate you reaching out to us today.”

I replied to the email letting them know the supervisor probably put it under the center stop light on the cab but its really the back window and I mentioned the TSB again. No response as of Tuesday. I reached back out to my dealer and let them know what’s going on, I asked for the old part number that was on my truck because when they did the repair in January 2023 they replaced it with part number 6842639AE but their system is down so they’ll get back to me. Ram cares has been useless and told me my truck isnt covered probably because it’s not the affected part even though the TSB looks like they stole my picture for it. I’ll continue to try and look for a resolution. something isn't adding up, almost like their system is slow to roll out this fix for everyone affected.

They very well may have written it up improperly. I wouldn't expect a reply by the next day. But I would keep on them.

does TSB extend warranty to cover replacement of rear window if there wasn't a previous claim during the original warranty period? The rear window frame is cracked and leaking but I didn't realize under original warranty had expired.

The extended warranty should cover it.

Yes. It doesn't matter if you had a problem before or not. The TSB flat out gives extended warranty on the rear window.

Hello wanted to provide another update as I got a reply this morning. They have approved the reimbursement! Seems like it was just submitted under the wrong code. I fully expected opening that email today having to make another round of calls to get this taken care of. I hope the process gets easier for everyone affected because that was a headache. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Add me to the list finally. 9/14/20 build date, 48K miles. Noticed some drips inside a couple weeks ago when washing. Hasn’t rained much lately but finally did today. Water coming in the upper passenger corner. Pulled the roof trim and can confirm a crack both visually and with soapy water and air blown from the inside. Going to attempt sealing it myself with some Lexel rather than pull an otherwise good window with ceramic tint. If it cracks anywhere else down the road and leaks I will let the dealer replace it.

Just seal the whole thing from left to to right and down the sides with Permatex and be done with it.
The replacement will crack and the defroster solder-joints can come apart.
At least mine did.

I’m just going to do the corner that leaks at the moment. The gap between the window and body is too small to get in there to seal much else without filling the crap out of the whole space.
I updated the seal on the brake light a year ago and that’s been fine since. So as long as I don’t get the cracks by the slider, I’m hoping this will take care of it.

Just do the whole thing while your at it.
Started with sealing the common top cracks by the slider.
Later on the left corner let go, just like yours.
Then the right corner cracked and there are cracks down the sides.
I used masking tape around the area and cut the tip of the Permatex flow-able pretty small in order to reach the top, took a while to get it there.
