Yeah I'm not huge fan of how the smaller opening looks but "if" it fixes the leak issue then I'm all for it. When mine leaks again I'll take a closer look at this option or just say screw it and put in a non-slider.

I rarely use my slider. If it cracks Im more than happy to take a solid window or a new design that wont crack. This is the Mopar backlite. Plastic and glass just dont expand and contract at the same rate so we get cracks in the plastic.

I was wondering about that obviously its much less expensive to replace with solid glass and solid doesnt have the leaking issue correct?

Well,
Add me to the d@mn list. I fell victim to having a wet headliner today after a downpour. Rear passenger side. Dripping from the corner.

No cracks that I can see. And it’s only one side so I assume it’s not the CHMSL.

Permatex here I come. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That sucks. At least you're in good company.

Leaking from the corner, been there, done it.
Just do the whole thing, all the way across and down the sides.
edit: just to make sure, check the CHMSL gasket.

Has anyone used backer rods with the permatex? 1/4" should do it right?

Why not, do the corners now and the middle later.
In did the opposite, middle first to stop that leak and then the corners when they started to leak.
That’s what I was thinking. But…..Will making the corners higher stop the water in the middle from draining?
