Real world MPGs / What are you averaging?

2019 Rebel, 44,000 miles with stock duratracs. Highway @78 South Louisiana to W Texas (800 miles) 16mpg. Good tail winds will get me up to 17.5, but all around for total mileage on truck has been the 16mpg highway driving. Next truck will have the 33 gallon tank..

what engine and axle? I've got the hemi and 3.92 and got 21 on the highway doing 75.

I'll bet your HIGHWAY was virtually flat or down grade.
Try that on a real uphill grade

I mainly do city driving. average low 13s. about to do a 700 mile drive all highway little to no traffic in a couple weeks. Curious what thats gonna look like.

9,000 miles on mine. Was getting low 19's during summer months. Dropped to low 17's with winter gas and 5 minutes of warming up idling. Hand calculated. 95% highway

Got my truck in December, roughly 1,250 miles on it, average 13.4mpg, mixed 50/50 hwy/city. I suspect the real world mpg is lower by at least 1 to 2 mpgs. I would do a hand calculation but I dont care about it that much, cause it won’t change anything. I have the 33ga tank and I can see the fuel gauge needle moving everytime I look at it, the HEMI is very thirsty, all the time.....

My salesman, which is also a friend, when I asked him about the ecodiesel , he almost threw me out of the dealership and added that nobody gets the diesels. So I stuck with the Hemi, maybe that wasnt the best decision in retrospect.

I normally don't get that. Winter gas, mainly rural driving, I'm seeing about 18 mpg, ECO disabled. No complaints here at all, love it.

16k miles so far, 15.9mpg lifetime... pretty fn sad considering that's mostly hwy commuting of 35 miles plus each way. My previous Fords all avg MUCH better with similar options and my F250 gasser avg in the 16mpg range.

Son’s 19 Ltd 1500 non-ET 4x 3.21 averages 15 mpg’s due to 80% in town. Occasionally sees highway then he gets 19.
My identical (except bed length) gets 1-2 mpg’s better, likely due to driving differences.
Max mpg’s I have seen is 23 at 65-70 mph on level terrain. I usually don’t get quite that in winter.
The 3.21’s give the mileage and sacrifice some of the power, but I don’t tow or “play” at all so don’t need 3.92. I didn’t buy the hemi for gas mileage.

I don't use cruise either; cruise doesn't actually maximize MPG, unless you have an erratic right foot. It's better to use your foot lightly, letting the truck coast up and down slight dips and inclines, than it is trying to keep the truck at an exact speed while going up hills. So if you drop speed going up a hill, that's fine, especially if the truck doesn't downshift because of it. But cruise will often give the truck more gas going up a hill, to keep it at speed, but that uses more gas of course.

And to be honest, that's the ECU talking too. I haven't confirmed that MPG manually at all, though I've heard our meters are quite accurate for the most part.

37s and playing with the Pulsar = 11MPG around town. First 500mi road trip coming up since the mods, we'll see what happens.

With heavy 35s and 3.92s I would say normal city driving gets me about 13mpg. Highway is usually around 16.5. That’s in SoCal with lots of hills and traffic lights.

After my first full tank fill-up, I gotta say I’m quite pleased with the ecodiesel! I commute five days per week to and from work - 65 miles one way. One thing to note is that the dealership did not have the DEF topped off when I drove it off the lot; it was at about 3/4. Upon my next full tank fill-up, I’ll do the ‘two click method’ just as I did for the first full tank fill-up to maintain consistency. I’ll take photos and post/update. What are you all averaging mpg-wise??

Just did the first half of a 2200 mile round trip and ended up netting 16.2 on the guage, 16.08 hand calc, nearly all interstate driving. Was hoping for better, but while 70 MPH speed limits don't help the efficiency, they certainly are better for the overall drive.

Side note - with the 33 gallon tank we were able to run 6 hours before the first stop. Huge help, as long as the bladders hold out.

Diesel costs more per gallon and then there is the cost of DEF

so if you are not towing or hauling then in my opinion gas makes more sense

15 and over is 100% achievable provided you stay on stock wheels/tires and no lift.

If you're averaging 18mpg in a HEMI, you should be jumping up and down! LOL
