Real world MPGs / What are you averaging?

Diesel costs more per gallon and then there is the cost of DEF

so if you are not towing or hauling then in my opinion gas makes more sense
DEF is pretty negligible. Most of us are getting 1000-1000mpg in Def. My costs are about 0.002/mile.

Diesel is also cheaper where I live and has been that way for most of the time I've had an Ecodiesel from 2014.

My Ecodiesel gets 7-8 mpg more than my hemi did and I drive quite a bit so it's been beneficial to me owning the Ecodiesel.

V8 E-Torque, 3.21, stock 20s, 75/25 city/highway and have gotten 17.9 over 7100 miles around Dayton, OH. Averaged 24.9 on a trip from Ohio to Tulsa, OK and back in October.

You can also see averages by year for hundreds/thousands of Rams at fuelly.com. In total, the numbers for ‘19-21 shake out like this:

HEMI eTorque = 15.1-16.2 mpg (by year)
V6 eTorque = 15.2-18.9 mpg
HEMI = 14.8-15.3 mpg

I'm currently draggin that avg down as I'm in the mid 14's with winter fuel. :sneaky:

Yep. Short hold and inter gas have me down to the 11-13 range

My mpg this winter has taken a nose dive. I've got the exact same driving route and driving habits that I did the past two winters, but for whatever reason it's sharply lower this year.

The past two winters I generally ranged from 17-19 mpg, this winter I've been in the 15s and 16s. My last tank was a hand calc 15.02 mpg.

Just passed 10k... yeah, I’m definitely happy with the ecodiesel engine choice!!

that sample MPG was only taken over a ~63 mile span however.
I'd like to see that sampling over a much wider range of miles (e.g. thousands of miles) to get a "real world"
estimate.

Here's one just before I reset the trip from my previous pic...
You can also see my previous posts on this thread...
After 10k miles, I'm getting an average north of 26 mpg (depending on how hard I drive).

Just did a 1200km trip (last night). Averaged 12.4L/100km going roughly 120km/hr for the majority of the trip, only one stop along the way. Seemed pretty good to me but take that for what you will. Sorry I don't know what that is in American and I'm too lazy to math right now. 😄

Here you go.

Miles per gallon (Imperial)Kilometer per literLiter per 100 kilometers

Formula235.215/(12.4 L/100km) = 18.969 US mpg

New 5.7 with 3.92 rear end. My first tank of gas got a little over 13 mpg. All city driving. No burnouts, power stalls or donuts but I do enjoy the freeway on-ramps. Seriously, I have been taking it easy until I get a few miles on the truck. I’m retired and don’t drive a lot of miles so I’m not too concerned with mpg. What fuel do you guys use? Manual says 87 octane is OK but 89 is recommended. Not sure what the dealer filled it with on delivery, I went with 89 on my first fill up.

LakesAZ already did it for you, but you can just go to google and type "convert 12.4 L/100 km to mpg" and hit enter, it does the math for you and gives you the result!

I'm getting in the 15-16 range with a level and bigger tires. Lost 1 to 2 mpg with the tires. Not a lot of highway driving. Probably 70/30 city/highway. Best trip was 21 on a 200 mile trip mostly highway with tail wind. Return route was 19.

19 is all I've managed to obtain since I got mine.

I have actually considered a Colorado or a Ranger. Frontier will redesign in 2022. Would not touch a Taco.

12.9-14.5 typically for me. 5.7 non-etorque. No heavy foot. 34.5” 295 tires w/18” fuel wheels. That’s about it. Even has active air dam I believe they call it. Not sure why my mileage sucks so bad compared to others.

will have had it two weeks on 5/3. 27+ on highway in the foothills of the Rockies on I25. No trips in the mountains yet. 24ish on my in town but that’s really partial highway. Love the EcoDiesel.

Mine is typically around 15-16 mpg. 30/70 city/highway. Truck is stock with 6k miles. Calculations made by Fuelly.
