Readylift 2” + uca making contact with springs?

I remember getting custom colored actual reservoir rear shocks (not just piggy back) for like 1250 or something like that. Guess that was many moons ago and prices have gone up.
Yeah that setup will run closer to 1800 these days, a set starts around 900 and goes up from there. Fox king icon and radflo are about the same price and option wise. Essentially 2700 base price front and rear, the price goes on up with options from there pushing 4k for all the bells and whistles with custom anodizing
 
4K for shocks is steep for sure, that’s almost what I have in lift/wheel/tire. Guess I won’t be doing Kings on my truck then either at this price lol

Beyond the cost they're just too much shock for a daily that's going to see relatively tame terrain or slow offroad trails, they really are design for fast wide open terrain where shock fade becomes an issue from the constant high speed cycling. Most people think since trophy trucks have them they must be the best but for most people it's just a waste of $

I agree with that, other than they ride better than anything else I’ve been in. Across multiple platforms. But I’ve never had any experience with fox, so I guess I will watch for those instead since people seem to like them.

Exactly. Remote Kings/Fox, etc on a full sized lifted crew cab on 22's are nothing but eye candy. And there are a ton of people that love eye candy it seems.

I don’t see any real middle of the road options. I see over buying a fancy race/off-road coilover and shock or running some cheap bs. I certainly don’t need reservoirs, but at the price point you’re spending on this things you might as well get it even it is for the looks.

Totally agree, You don't see trucks running remote resis sitting on 17 or 18 inch wheels with 35's and the minimal lift required to clear tires very often. Most of the time you see them on trucks with 22, 24 or 26 inch x 14" wide wheels on 40 series tires with 8 inches of lift. Plenty of videos on youtube of trucks with these kind of set-ups stuck in places a stock 4x4 would have no issue with, usually sand because they can't air down 13.50 wide tire stretched over a 12 or 14 inch wheel.
 
Can’t get over what readylift thinks is “normal”

Here’s the Fox front strut. Have about a finger gap in between where the readylift was touching.

The first question you need to ask yourself; what don't you like about the ride currently? Then do your research to see who makes what to improve that weakness. Unfortunately, there aren't many options as of yet. Although it seems there is new stuff in the pipeline.

In regards to complicated external res shocks; buy a shock that works for your intended use. Spending a ton of money for something that looks cool is a waste of your money, if your true intention is to improve ride quality. Bigger and more expensive does not necessarily mean, better, for your intended use. If you do decide to spend the big money, then do it right and have the valving custom tailored to your truck. That is where a high end shock shines, when it is specifically set up to the vehicle and the intended use. Just slapping them on is a waste of a great product.

Something extremely important to look at is tire pressures. Most tire shops (and owners) have a tendency to run at max pressures or at a minimum, over-inflated. Something else to consider is tire sidewall height. A 22" wheel and a 35" tire leaves a very short sidewall. A sidewall like what is in your profile is only about 6". So it has far less compliance over objects than say the same 35" tire on an 18" wheel which has close to an 8" sidewall.
 
Good info, but I already knew this. And you didn’t really answer. Not trying to be a Dck, but I don’t know how else to say it.

“Research” isn’t an answer.

I mean the only happy medium seems to be falcon shocks from teraflex.

We both know what I don’t like about the ride, it’s got 50 cent white shocks on the rear and preloaded coil on the front. Bouncy mcbounce over bumps. People are quick to blame the “small tire big wheel” but has nothing to do with the truck bouncing around on rough roads. And a 5-6” profile isn’t really that small. Sure it’s smaller but it’s not 24s snd 33s.
 
So OP, did you drive it yet!? How is it?

(Sorry I mostly derailed this thread. But it’s at least good conversation about shocks lol)
 
I’m running the RL 2 with UCAs and do not have the issue on my 2019 Rebel, in fact out of all the people I know or have seen that have done this aren't seeing the same issue you are, it’s odd...I’m very happy, e en did some moderate off-roading with zero issues and my truck rides just as good as it ever did.
