All True, but I have to say that pointing and shooting (accurately) at a big red dot is quicker and easier than I expected. And definitely better than aligning the front ramp sight.

Very true. Red dots are one of those things, like politics, which will always be hotly debated. I like them for what they are and they are fun. They can be very useful in combat situations, especially in low light. I don’t like practicing with them, personally, because I feel it gets me rusty and like developing my muscle memory and sight acquisition. They are fun though

Co-witness the RMR and you get the best of both worlds.

It’s been a while since I’ve had time to go shooting. My new “friend” from the forum asked me to go, so I said heck yeah!

This is one of my weekend plinkers. As a Ruger girl, I went with the AR556! I changed out the grips and went with the red anodized charging handle and take down pins. Vortex red dot and magnifier. I use the 10 round when bench shooting, Pmag30 the rest of the time.

Let’s see what everyone shoots! Sport rifles, hunting rifles, pistols, archery, black powder, anything!

I have the exact same Vortex optics on mine. How do you like them?

No complaints, especially at a good price! Pretty easy to sight in, and seems to be holding zero. Wasn’t going to get the magnifier at first, but glad I did.

Finished a couple more builds last month

Top one
PSA M4 stamped lower
JSE Surplus stripped A2 upper
Brownells 12.7" barrel
Pinned & welded XM177 compensator

The other is a New Frontier Armory 9mm that takes MP5 mags. The C5 side charging upper, stripped lower, LPK, BCG and 7" handguard are all from NFA. 8" barrel is from KAK. Been waiting since October for NFA to get complete uppers back in stock but I finally had enough and just assembled it myself.
