Ram Rebel 2019 - Bilstein 6112 and 5160..Do I need to change/upgrade the UCA?

So ive just blown some cash on a set of Bilstein 6112s up front and 5160s in the rear. Should receive them in a few weeks. However, seeing that the rebel is 1" factory lift, and Im planning to level it out at notch 8 (2" lift) I am reasonably convinced that I am going to need new UCAs. My truck will see some pretty aggressive offroading in the desert and will experience maximum droop often. My driving skills are excellent, however, the desert often reminds me that I am a complete newbie....LOL!!...he he See pictures attached as I am totally wedged on the crest of a dune...all 4 wheels off the ground. The next question is...which UCAs? Any advice or perhaps Im fine with stock (I doubt it).

I did. I originally had Readylift to get with spacers. When I swapped out the 6112s and 5160s I left the UCAs in. Might as well do it right.

Thanks for the reply. Have ordered some new UCAS from Total Chaos FAB. As you said do it right. Was looking at a new set of (stock size) wheels too. Perhaps with a more centre biased offset. Stock is ET 19.05 so was looking to push the wheels out just a little. Any thoughts?

I ordered the 6112/5160 combo. Also ordered the Rough Country UCA and Icon 1.5 spring. Probably take another week for those goodies to arrive. Fingers crossed.

Cool! Looks like we're both ordering very similar setups. My front 6112s have arrived, my 5160s and UCAs both arrive this Sun the off to the garage. I ordered mine from Bilsteinlifts.com if anybody is wondering. Good service and pretty quick delivery.

Getting ready to install the same bilstein 6112/5160 setup. I went for icon UCAs, clayton 2.5" rear springs and also added a Hellwig rear sway bar for 2-4" lift.

I initially ordered the bilsteins from Bilsteinlifts and service/delivery was good and fairly quick. However i decided to return the icon springs I ordered and have now been waiting for 20 days for the return to be verified through there department and best they can tell me is they are backed up.

Anyways...has anybody found some strut top mounts for their 6112s instead of pulling apart the stock struts?

My 6112s and 5160s are installed along with new Total Chaos UCAs! Received the truck back late last night and will heading into the desert this afternoon to test it all out. Will keep ya'll posted with some pics and videos soon.

First impressions though...oh yeh its lifted!

So having installed the.6112s and 5150 set up from Bilstein (and UCAs from Total Fab). I took to the desert yesterday. The drive out there is approx 90mins , of which an hour of this can be driven legally at 100mph. Firstly, speed bumps are mostly smoothed out and a great improvement over stock. At higher speeds between 50-80mph it is very close to stock. Perhaps 10% more feel of road imperfecrions. Turning/roundabouts - the lean is improved by say 20% ie more stiff. At 80-100mph is still buttery smooth but virtually 0% lean. Offroad (only on sand) small and meduim chop/track is improved massively..say 80% better. The shocks just absorb it up and you feel cushioned from everything!

Certainly a great improvement over stock and still very smooth on the road...but offroad is fantastic. Haven't tried on a washboard surface yet...some other time.

how much lift did you gain on setting 8 on the rebel? ive heard mixed reviews of ppl saying using the supplied coils the rebel won't achieve 2 inches and that it's only possible to gain 2 inches using the factory rebel springs.

I have my front 6112s on ring 7 and have gained just under 2". I wanted to keep a slight rake as my truck gets loaded up to the max occasionally which would cause the front to lift. Not sure about the rebel springs. However, the stock springs are designed to work with the stock shocks. The 6112 springs are designed to work with the 6112 shocks. I wouldn't change these around! I guess it depends on what you want and what you plan to do with the truck. I take my truck offroad regulary so I am adamant about improving performance but not going too far away from the OEM setup and suspension geometry. I have achieved a good 3" lift by improving the suspension (2") and slightly larger tires (1" - 295/70/R18).

Swapped out and it looks like i get 2" on setting 8 as it says on the sheet for Rebels. In the rear i run timbergrove helper bags so the weight isn't affecting sag, also why it has more rake. Running 35x12.5

is that 2 inches with new 35s or were you already running 35s and gained an additional 2 inches from the 6112s.asking to see if that 2 inches was 2 inches from the 6112s or an inch from tires and and inch or so from the 6112's

Got the 6112 (clip 8) and 5160's installed (along with rear spring and UCA). I use this to tow so wanted half - 1" of rake still. Put the new wheels and tires. 295/70r18 fit. Had to remove small front mudflap and bend back metal bracket, then put the factory mud guard back on.

Super happy so far with the setup.

I am looking to do this. Did you have the UCAs from ready lift that were for their 2 inch level lift? We’re you able to get additional lift by moving to 6112s? And do you need new rear springs for the 5160s in back?

No additional lift. Just a higher quality shock. I changed out my rear coils in the rear to get additional lift. I have a bed slide mounted in the bed that weighs a bit. With the 2” lift in the front I was a bit nose high. And then when I loaded up, the rear was much lower.
