Well good news, I ordered the Mopar 68298334AA sensor and it came in today and just got done installing it then using Alpha OBD to turn on the rain sensing wiper feature and right after it started to sprinkle, talk about good timing. With the light sprinkle and on the lowest sensitivity it would randomly wipe on its own, so it looks like I'm good to go.
As far as the time it took to update, I may of waited a minute before turning the truck on and the feature was already on the Uconnect screen. (y)
how easy was it to get the sensor out and to save this gel people are talking about?

It's easy to get the sensor out and save the gel. The sensor has tabs that mount it to the housing. The hardest part is trying to get the rear view mirror back on.

Exactly how the shroud pops off?

Does the plastic shroud around the sensor stay on or does it needs to be removed from the new one?

It stays on. Just pop the metal clips.

Yes, take that off. That's just shipping protection.

So you just leave them in on the delay setting from 1-4 clicks? What if you need them in hi or lo is all that controlled through the sensor?

If you use lo or hi, it works a normal.

Mine are coming on every now and then when it’s not even raining

Mine will give an occasional random wipe on a clear and sunny day. I just keep them off until it’s actually raining then leave it on the lowest setting. Running the calibration may help with it, but I’ve never been bothered.

Calibration? Wondering if I got air between the sensor and gel pad

Pretty sure there’s a calibration you can run with AlfaOBD. I never bothered to look into it since they work fine when it’s actually raining.

Mine does the same, anybody know how to calibrate the wipers?

It's called "light rain sensor readoption", but it fails when I run it in AlfaODB.
