I like your post, last week I bought a new 2020 Jayco 145RB to travel across North America next year after my wife and I retire. It’s only 14 1/2 foot long and under 2500 lbs. It has everything we need, we will install a good quality mattress instead of the thin sponges on the kitchen table, the bed will be permanent so we will use the small sofa and a portable table if we eat inside. I also bought a dual fuel 3200 watt Firman inverter generator from Costco, I will test it on propane tomorrow.
The last time my wife, daughter, son and myself drove across Canada, 9500km it was in a Dodge Caravan, no trailer, we tented at KOA campgrounds and a few motels.
We are getting excited for our next trip, with my Rebel diesel and the small trailer with no kids.
Lodging is one of the most expensive part of traveling, then food, fuel and entertainment. We did the Disney resorts 3 times with the kids, so our entertainment will not be as expensive, we want to take our time and enjoy the scenery.
