Pulsar on a 2020+

Mine arrived yesterday, installation took about 10 minutes. Hardest part was getting the connectors off of the ECM, I kept pulling the red lever up and the connectors kept separating apart, so it took a few tries of putting it back together and trying to hold it as I pulled up. Once they came off it was pretty simple and straight forward to put back.

Impressions of driving around for about 3 miles:
-Performance Mode definitely feel more power and less throttle lag. Truck just picks up instantly.
-Economy mode - can't say if theres any improvements yet, but there is definitely a power "loss". The truck feels more tamed and hesitant in this mode. I'm hoping to get more than 10mpg I've been getting.

I do have the 3.92 gear ratio with 35" Ridge Grapplers and 5 inch lift, so we'll see how it does.

So far no weird issues, or codes, etc.

Well it came in and they said this is for the 2020. But as you can tell my case looks different. Installed in no time. But I have lost the following
Sirus radio, deploy running boards, cameras, can't adjust the temp up or down, always blows hot air, no passenger heat or cool (don't even show up), no air ride options in Uconnect. I know there is more. My friend said he had the same issue as well and then they just all came back. So I have my fingers crosses at this point. But was a noticeable change and very noticeable with the pedal commander. I have not tried to adjusting the throttle with the Pulsar yet.

After the battery disconnect it takes a while for everything to reset

All came back today once I went out cranked again. The only funny thing is the Sirus tab is not on the left side as before it's under another button.

I just bought one for my 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 e/torque. Install was a breeze. I drove it around the Block a few times and cycled it through the tunes, they all seemed to work great. I went home and parked my truck. About an hour later I went to the store. I made it about 3 blocks before my dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the truck went into a limp in mode. Wouldn’t go over 20. I pulled over, turned it off and on and it set the tune back to stock. It seem to work fine although I have an engine light on now.... not impressed for $500. After reading a lot of reviews here on the forum it seems to be pretty normal. This thing is fickle. I’m going to return it. I was really hoping it would be a clean, no issue addition.

I have a 2019 with the pulsar and luckily ive never had a problem.
One thing that is sometimes missed is how to reconnect the ground wire. I watched a few YouTube vids and I can see how this can be installed wrong and cause issues.

Discouraging because it would seem to be a good option without messing with the pcm but it sounds like they still have some bugs to work out.

Some people break the tabs for the PCM connection allowing the connection to become loose. That and ground wire issues.

How did you ground yourself? The directions say to put the grounding strap in between the bolt head and washer, which I did. Is there a better way?

Update.... drove around for another 5 mins and my engine light went off and everything appears to be working fine for now.... not sure what causes these intermittent engine lights to come on. I’m going to use it for about ans week and see how it goes.

The video I watched said to connect it behind the pcm and in front of the plate that the pcm mounts to, so its metal to metal.

I have not seen any, but I can tell you it brings the truck to life. I also have a borla atak exhaust with a k & n CAI.
It’s ridiculously fun to drive. Completely changes the truck. I could not imagine going back to stock.

Have driven the truck so far for about 300 miles.. the computer says 12.6 MPG, which is a pretty good increase from the 10.5 i was getting before. I've had it in economy mode the whole time, along with pedal commander in economy -4. I have not had any issues whatsoever.

Do you have the pedal Commander also? If so do you use that also to adjust the throttle response?

No I don’t have a pedal commander. The pulsar changes the throttle dynamics just like a pedal commander though.
In performance mode on the pulsar is extremely touchy. Takes a bit to get used to. I find tow mode the sweet spot as it changes the shift points nicely and the throttle is just right. If the wife drives it I put back to stock. I find eco mode useless as I’m not interested in MPG.

Does anyone who has the Pulsar also have a Tazer DT installed? I see that they use some of the same buttons for program access, wondering if there are any conflicts

So is the general census here that this product is a good buy? It seems like a great no hassle tuner for the PCM but the negative stories have me a bit concerned. (For a 2020 eTorque btw)
