Price negotiated from MSRP

Here's a direct quote from Craig's email when I first inquired prior to ordering my truck. The Italicized last paragraph explains why the some people reported having the destination charge added back on. I personally don't like that trick as it makes the WOW price seem better than it actually is, unfortunately in the greater DC area almost every dealership I looked at plays that game. At least that's not a thing if you go through Craig and do a factory order.

"Now due to low inventory, I can only do the Group Discount on factory orders only. So if you are looking for the Group Discount of 6%, under invoice, it would have to be a factory order. Otherwise if you are looking at something in stock, it would be whatever the WOW price is plus freight, tax, tags and processing.

If you are looking at an in-stock vehicle, what is the vin number or the stock number? You can check out my inventory here; https://www.koonsjeep.com/new-inventory/index.htm

Usually factory orders take about 6-7 weeks, however I can not promise that. Once I submit the order to the factory, it is beyond my control. But usually factory orders take 6-7 weeks. However, with current events, that is indeed subject to take longer and is out of my control. Now the 6% under invoice does require financing through Chrysler Capital at which all you need to do is make 3 payments and either pay it off or refinance elsewhere if needed . So it would be whatever the invoice is, less 6% (Must Finance with Chrysler Capital or loose 1,000), plus tax, tags and 899 processing.

The difference between the Group Buy and WOW price is that the WOW is always changing, all the paperwork has to be done before months end and does not include the factory destination, so that fee would have to be added back in. Compared to the Group Buy where it would be invoice, less the % off, plus tax, tags and 899 processing as the destination is already included. "
Having to finance through chrysler to get the group buy is a new twist....that wasnt my deal

Yeah, I'm not thrilled w/ that. I should qualify for the best rate they have, but I've read some really bad reviews about their finance department. Overall the deal is a little better than what I could get elsewhere so I went w/ it and will refinance if they screw me on the interest rate.

Oh boy, here we go. I'm flying up from Florida tomorrow to get my truck. I have a quoted price of invoice minus 6.5% (6% plus additional half percent for Affiliates Rewards).

As I've previously described, once I was advised that my truck was in stock, I confirmed with Craig the rebates I will qualify for and I told Craig I'd like to take advantage of the 0% CCAP for 60 months. Only then was I told the invoice minus 6.5% quoted price would not be "available" with the promotional 0% CCAP rate.

I told Craig I'd finance part of the purchase through PenFed (that I arranged on my own) and I'd pay the difference with a personal check. I have this documented in email(s).

I was never told I'd need to finance through CCAP in order for the quoted price of invoice minus 6.5% to be honored. The only thing I was told that I'm leaving on the table is an additional $500 rebate for not financing through CCAP. I'm okay with that.

If I show up tomorrow and I'm told I need to finance through CCAP, I'll walk out the door and fly back to Florida.

Everything I've seen about folks dealing w/ Craig has been good. I ordered my truck about 2 months after you did, and he put the $1000 dollar caveat on my order sheet, and sales offer sheet that I had to sign before the order was finalized. My guess is the CCAP requirement is something new due to the inventory issues right now. If it's not on those sheets that you signed you should be fine. If they try to play games you can use your sales order as proof that you aren't required to finance through them to get the price you were quoted. Post back w/ your experience so we can compare notes.

I ordered from Craig on 9 October, and the 1k caveat was not mentioned when I signed the order sheet. He just told me today my truck was cleared for shipping. We haven't really talked financing other than I am trading in. There has been no mention of any changes to cost. I plan on going through NavyFed as PenFed as been a pain so far. Plan on showing up with a check in hand from Navy Fed (theres a branch where I work). If they play games I will just ask for my deposit back and walk.

I also asked that, since I am driving down from NY and driving right back, they make sure all fluids are topped, battery cables are tight, and full tank of gas. Said those things wouldn't be a problem.

You should of ordered from Lakeland.
7% off invoice, (it's actually a lot more considering they're not flipping the destination charge back in like Koons)

And best part is, they're in Florida.

I wasn't aware of Lakeland at the time I placed my order with Koons.

You might be ok if you ordered last month..i think only the rebates apply to pickup time..he is pretty straightforward i dont think you will have an issue..you will have to go thru a credit check and they may make you do a hold contract if you dont have check in hand which i think is bullsheet..but i came from nj and wasnt turning back. I ordered the extended warranty and cancelled it.got all verbals and emails that its cancelled but havent seen anything in writing yet..im holding craig to his word.he has a rep to keep up so i have no issues or complaints with him the finance dept is another story..no calls back and took several calls and emails to get a reply back...if your cash or check in hand i dobt see an issue...if your expecting them to call penfed with you and arrange wire or overnight good luck..truck is sweet...enjoy it.

I have a blank check from PenFed.

It really depends on the dealer and the deal you can get.

I started looking last November and purchased in December. Found a '20 Laramie Night Edition w/ MSRP about $62k. Best deal they were offering was $52k. Found a similar '21 with more options and MSRP at $64k, bought it for $48k (before my $1500 coupon).

It's fun being on the phone with dealers as they're saying "....that's almost 10k off, I thought you'd be more excited about it!" 😅

EDIT: To add a little more - if you find a leftover '20 like you want, you can try the dealer or you might have better luck contacting a near by high volumn dealer to see if they can get the truck and do a better price. When I was searching around, almost every dealer I contacted was able to give me their internet advertised price (or close), but was generally not willing to take off much more, that '20 that I passed up for example. I didn't haggle any dealer hard this time, I just collected a lot of quote and went with the best.
I’m in Southern California and I purchased 1500 Limited 4x4 with technology package, night edition, BUG, limited level 1 EG, dual panoramic sunroof, RamBox, Multi function tail gate and a few other options.
MSRP$73,700
Employee Pricing $64,430
Dealer Accessories $1,044
Theft Deterrent Device $2,525
Coupon for Theft Device ($1,750)
Rebate for financing with Chrysler ($1,500)

So i recommend you call him and tell him what you have he will tell you up front what their policy is...

I've already told him in an email how I will be paying. He replied that there was no problem.

Just to be clear, right now if you buy off the lot at Koons they add back the destination charge, but if you factory order through Craig they don't. If they were doing that on the factory orders I wouldn't have ordered my truck from him. I'd looked at a 2020 Koons had on the lot this summer, between the destination charge add back, and bad reviews of their financing dept I decided not to pull the trigger at that point.
The primary reason I went w/ Koons for the order is Craig made it clear he was giving me a price that didn't have the add-back. Also, I live about 12 miles from Koons, but will be tagging the truck in FL (Military FL resident stationed outside of the state) and their is a significant tax savings that I would lose if I purchased the truck in FL that outweighs the 1% below invoice difference.

He did on my quote.
He took it out, factored the 6% invoice discount. Then factored the destination charge back in.

I ordered from Lakeland. They offered 7% off invoice, yet the truck was almost $2000 cheaper.

That is very decent configuration. Did you get 0% APR from CCAP as well? I heard they only gave out $500 rebate if you finance with them.

My dealer in NJ has said it's about 8-12 weeks before I had placed the order over Thanksgiving weekend.

Are you guys matching Lakeland at 7% off invoice?

My pricing is based off of Msrp. The more expensive the trucks, the more I can discount because it has more mark up. Send me your truck build.

I’ve been reading that some of these other dealers are charging $800 in fees or adding back in $1695 destination fees. That’s crazy. The destination fee is already listed and charged for at the bottom of the invoice from the factory. So if they are adding that back, you’re being charged twice.

My fees are clear. $200 doc $19 for temp tag/notary.

They’re offering 6% below invoice including using a rebate from Chrysler capital. I’m ordering trucks at that pricing or better depending on the Msrp, without using ANY rebates. You do not have to finance with Chrysler to get that. You should also get pricing based on no rebates and then be able to add rebates when the truck arrives.
