Price negotiated from MSRP

There are no prepayment penalties. Some dealers, mine included, have additional dealer discount if you finance through FCA (they receive kickbacks).

They "asked" (gentleman's agreement) that I make 6 payments on the FCA loan before paying it off or refinancing. All in all, paying the slightly higher FCA rate of 4.7% will cost me almost nothing over a few months... I'm happy to honor that agreement for the thousands I was able to save. The only penalty for not making the 6 payments, is that they may be less willing to offer those types of deals in a future transaction for someone who didn't hold up their end of the agreement.

If you want to keep the costs down, pay all but $500 with the first payment and then $100/mo for the remaining 5 months.

I haven’t purchased yet, hopefully in the next few days. I didn’t make any type of deal regarding waiting 90 days, the dealer said I could refinance after 90.

I hope anyone considering Koons is also checking with Carl at Criswell. They use different math / discounts (off MSRP vs invoice), but for my 2020 Ram the Criswell deal was the less expensive option. I really enjoyed working with Carl too. The entire process went great and I was out of state (8 hours north in NH).
I documented my purchase experience in the Criswell forum on here, and in some of these posts too. My temp plate expired this week and I completed the process of registering it in my local town. All the paperwork was correct and things went fine.

Criswell was at 12% off MSRP
Koons was 6% off invoice which added up to nearly 14% from MSRP.

Again I think it’s worth doing all the match. 2% of 50k is $1000.
The Koons dealer fees are crazy high if I recall, about double that of Criswell too. It could be a wash or close. Mine was a couple hundred dollars difference.
The larger the MSRP I think the better Criswell looks (discount % off a larger $ amount), but it really depends on the actual truck build and invoice vs MSRP delta.

Criswell Fees are $500 and Koons are $899. I ended up going with Koons and also used my Tread Lightly account for an additional 1/2% off. It ended up being 6.5% off of invoice and 14.5% off MSRP. I still can deduct Incentives at time of delivery.

What is tread lightly?
How does one take part to get the .5?

I am looking at a vehicle at Dave Smith Motors and wanted to know if anyone has had success in negotiating a good discount. They say they are the largest dealer but don't
show their discounted prices. When you make them an offer they do not even come back close to other dealers.

They all say they're the largest dealer.
Maybe for their zip code.
Very few can back the talk -

Tell them to match Koons or Criswells discount - if they're the largest dealer.

I found out about it thru Criswell because they give you an additional 1% off for being a member. The only FCA requirement is that you have to be a member for 30 days prior to qualify. The membership cost $100 but it got me an addition .5% ($346.59 off) so in reality it gave me an additional $246.59 off. It would have been double with Criswell at the 1%. I ran numbers with Criswell and Koons on the same build and even though Koons fee is higher, they were $1,200 less than Criswell.

I didn't have any luck and ran into same issue.

2020 Ram Limited. Sticker 66.4k, paid 54.4k.
FCA affiliate number, rebates and discount from dealer for being a demo model with 2800 miles.

Also got 25.5k for a trade that one dealer offered 26k, and two other dealers offered 22k-23k.

Only wish was that they would have cleaned it better and waxed it (had polishing xompound on various pieces and plenty of swirls in black paint).

Where from?

Where from?

Maguire Ram in Ithaca NY.

Same maguire family Ram desler in Syracuse offered me 23k for my trade in even then the sales rep said his sales manager said "dont come in asking for more" after being offered 22k initially.

I told the sales rep "thats a real "sausage" move." And walked out.

I did the tread lightly too. T-shirt and like $480 back.
My 2020 Laramie ended up being 20% off MSRP with the rebates at the time $3500). Nice to have both dealers within one day. I enjoyed the no haggle experience.

I just paid off my Chrysler Loan after one month. Dealership asked me to make three payments but they fired my salesman and tried to jerk we around on the We Owe. Had to make three trips for a simple paint scratch repair. I felt I didn’t owe it to them. I will tell you that Chrysler makes it hard to pay it off. Won accept more than 3k in a payment on the website. I had to send a cashiers check to Texas.

what kind of discount have ppl been getting on 21' limited? 13% before TTL? Looks like waiting for price drop on 20' limited is just not going to happen, but i really dislike the idea of paying OTD close to MSRP

So I'm in the market. Have a 2015 1500 EcoDiesel, been a good truck but looking to switch to the gasser, get into a new one while I have equity in my current one.

I started looked at decently optioned big horns, but then ventured into Rebel territory (bad idea) and most recently the BTS package. I local dealer has a 2020 but not necessarily the additional options that I would go for. I'd probably be happy with it, especially for a better price.

But anyway, I built a 2021 Rebel, sent to three dealers local to me in SW Idaho, as well as Craig at Koons. With 2021 being fresh each dealer came back with a slightly different build on the truck but it still gave an idea of where their pricing it at:

Dealer #1
MSRP: $58,025
Dealer Price: $56,487
% Below Invoice: 3.6% ABOVE invoice
+2k if I trade in
+2k for dealer financing
+ any rebates at delivery

Dealer #2
MSRP: $58,495
Dealer Price: $51,337
% Below Invoice: 6.5% below
Assumes dealer financing
No additional incentive for trade
+ any rebates at delivery

Dealer #3
MSRP: $56,040
Dealer Price: $50,999
% Below Invoice: 4.6% below
Waiting on additional incentives for financing/trade
+ any rebates at delivery

Plan to finance for incentives then pay off within a few months. Found out this go around cash is no longer king.

With dealer #3 they have quite a few 2020 Rebels, with more options than I am looking for and I tried end of 3rd quarter dealing (on September 30) but they only came back with 10% off MSRP.

Curious how people did last year although obviously inventory is a different story this year. Plus I may conceded on color/options as the selections vary. For any "end of year" buyers, how close to the end of year did you get your deal?
