Price negotiated from MSRP

Just curious if anyone has traded a 19' for a 20' to take advantage of all the incentives? I bought my 19' in the summer of 18' so almost 2 years old, with 29k miles now. But at 0%/84 months, and with the equity I have in the truck I think I would walk away with a new truck for less than I am paying now.
I did. Traded in my 2019 with 13k miles for a 2020 Limited.

I threw in the towel and just bought fairly local after getting pissed off with them. Hopefully either they will chase you and firm things up or you can find something better close to you.
That sucks to get all ready to buy and happy about the deal to then get the proverbial rug pulled out from underneath.
As usual with dealerships it seems to be the gm not the salesman. I will say though nowhere was coming close to the dealer discount they offered on my order. I have a few places agreeing to match but I’m having a difficult time with all of them agreeing to lock in the 0% for 84. I have been told multiple times FCA allows it. Even from koons. So it’s just a waiting game until someone agrees to it.

May I ask what your experience was?
 
Ordered my 2020 Limited 4x4 back in February and lucked out to be able to take delivery during Ram’s truck month in March so my incentive rebate shot up to $5500.

Did a bunch of back and fourth between dealers for almost a week until I got the price I wanted but it really wasn’t much of a hassle in the end and well worth it in my opinion.

MSRP was something like 71200

Sale price after negotiation and rebates was 57k

Keep negotiating and you’ll get to where you wanna be and make dealers compete against eachother for the best deal for you
 
Need some advice/opinions. I started talking to a dealership that has a 2020 Ram Rebel MSRP $57,620 with $3,500 in Ram rebates and $7,111 in dealer savings that comes out to $47,009. I asked the guy to send the invoice of the truck which shows the price to be $54,009. Trucks been sitting on their lot for 58 days. Do y'all think there is more room to negotiate? He did mention if I went with the 0% APR for 84 months the Ram rebates would not apply (but I'm assuming they can add on to dealer savings if I asked).
That's already a great dealer discount. Probably not much more room if any in that deal.
 
Newest incentives are now up on the Ram site. Interestingly some are only good through May 4th.

Yeah it really took one call to FCA incentives to confirm.
Koons is definitely trying to do something dishonest, probably hoping there will be no 0% when your truck arrives so they can make money off the loan too.

I see the same for my area. On a Rebel the rebates are the same.

But now on the Build and Price page the "Comfort and Convenience Group" is now an option that can be added where as before it was not present.
 
@ Vector... how'd you make out upgrading from 19-20. Was it worth it? Did they give you a decent amount for your trade? I've heard trade values and used car values have plummeted to the economy being shut down? I would need a healthy trade in value for my 19 for me to make the math work.

A series of back and forth emails and texts where the numbers kept changing, then at the very end that the $1695 delivery charge was to be added on the bottom. I couldn’t get a final price that didn’t “float” and wasn’t willing to make a 12 hour one-way drive up with those vagaries.
When I finally declined the deal it was like 3 days of pestering emails, texts and attempted phone calls from the salesman and his boss trying to get me to come up and they would “see what they could do”. BS. You had your chance.

I bought a truck later that week from a dealer an hour away, and let Kz know.
Could I have possibly saved a few hundred $ or more by continuing the stupid game? Probably. Was it worth 24 hours of driving and a peed-off wife (the truck was for her and she detests car buying) to do so? Absolutely not.

Well sorry to hear that. I am in current contact with Craig, and so far it has beens mooth. I told him what I wanted, he sent me the build sheet, and showing the 8% under invoice price, then he sent me a buy order based on my residence with the tax/tag and processing fee and tax (the tax will change cause I have a trade and come from a state with tax savings on trade in ). Here it the build sheet and purchase order.

The 0%/84 is a good deal, but I think in the long run the incentives with a low interest loan is the better deal to get them....


Attached is the build sheet, and the buyers order, which won't be tine final price due to lack of rebates added or addition of my trade plus tax savings.......

Are people trading in 19's to upgrade trims or because of issues? I now have a couple of 19 longhorns here that dealers keep trying to make pretty good deals on??

Well the Governor of Michigan signed an Executive Order extending a shelter in place for 28 days more. So it appears doubtful that the factories will start up on May 4th as last stated by FCA. So those of us with orders submitted and those waiting on new dealer stock may be waiting longer.

Understand that it's current incentives OR the financing deal. I originally thought about doing the same thing with my 2019 but when I did the either/or math, it no longer made sense for me.
 
Yea, I think it's pretty close to break even depending on what they would actually give me for my 19. The things I would do for a 33 gallon fuel tank. lol

0%\84 months nukes the incentives. You can’t have both.

I told him what I wanted, he sent me the build sheet, and showing the 8% under invoice price, then he sent me a buy order based on my residence with the tax/tag and processing fee and tax (the tax will change cause I have a trade and come from a state with tax savings on trade in ). Here it the build sheet and purchase order.

I think an order is safer than a lot truck as far as keeping things nailed down. Hopefully you will be thrilled with the sale experience, I’m pretty sure you will be with the truck!

The MI state House voted yesterday to sue her. So plants may start by the middle of May. She will keep extending it well beyond the end of May unless a court stops her.
