Price negotiated from MSRP

Guys, I would like to see some actual proof on some of these deals. A picture of the final invoice etc. Trucar and some other tracking services are not showing these types of deals and in talking to several dealers, this is a new model that is in high demand so why would they deal so low. I don't know of any car or truck that a dealer can get that has a >$9K profit. I understand employee pricing but some of the mark-downs seem to be out of whack. Not trying to be a jerk, but if I can see some pics that would help the rest of us with our negotiations if these outstanding discounts are indeed true.

I asked for a quote and was given this price off the bat (had a response via email within 10 minutes) - no negotiations necessary. No prior affiliation with this dealer either.

You might have to broaden your search range a bit. This dealer is 3 hrs away, with a lot of dealerships in between here and there. The no BS and quick reply won my business and because of that, I wasn't going to use this quote as leverage with someone closer.

Hope this helps.

I guess what I am looking for is pics of the final invoice showing the discounts and actual negotiated price. This helps us go into a dealer and say "this is what others are getting." And it shows that these deals are actually real. Exactly what you provided. THANK YOU.

Apologies if this was asked already. If you special order a truck, do the rebates apply at time of ordering?

I have heard the only rebates you get are the ones for the month your truck is delivered, while other dealers have told me that I am entitled to the rebates at time of order and if there are better rebates while I wait for the truck, I can get those instead. Which one is it?

From what I've gathered it seems to be dealer specific. The better ones will give you the option to choose like you mentioned above.

I hear your frustration.

1% under invoice is possible (which should be about $5k off) with a supplier code. If you look into it, you'll discover that joining Tread Lightly for $100 or so a year will get you a supplier code. (not sure if there are restrictions on time limit etc) I was looking at ordering a Wrangler a few years back, so I had joined and kept my membership up. My local dealer, who is every bit as hard to work with as anyone else, looked at my paperwork, and offered me the indicated 1% under invoice, no more no less. I asked him frankly if that was it, and he said that was it, and acted like he was doing me a huge favor.

I found a dealer online who was willing to go another few thousand $ lower than THAT. I'll be making a 1000 mile road trip to pick my truck up for a total of about $9500 under msrp. It happens to work out for me with my work schedule and some east coast friends I can visit on the way home.

Frankly I didn't even return to my local dealer with the offer. I wrote the check and am patiently waiting to go pick it up in a week or so.

I'm using the Tread Lightly discount myself..you need to be a member for at least 30 days.

Very Nice...I used all my negotiating up on my trade-in to get them at the top end of the KBB value :)

Nice, I also did extremely well on my trade in. Jeff Belzers couldn't come close! I got a few grand more than Ford was offering to boot.

Where are you guys getting these rebates from? I’ve been to a few dealers in Michigan and aside from $1000 off MSRP for the Great Lakes Rebate, there’s nothing else. Has anyone been able to negotiate a good deal in or near Michigan?

There are plenty of dealers in Michigan willing to deal. I'm less than a days drive from Michigan and am more than 2% under invoice before rebates.

What do you guys think about this. Heading there now to potentially close the deal. His offer was 57500, MSRP attached

It’s not bad. They probably could take more off honestly. I bet you could work them down more in person. If this truck is the right color and combo you WANT then go for it. If you are settling here on color or options then maybe wait for something else.

This truck also has the stupid Kentucky Derby decals. Paying 100 bucks a piece for two stickers lol....

It sounds like you found an amazing deal.

Through my wife's employer, we have a supplier code (the "FFP" price on POC forms, roughly 1% below invoice). In our case, that's about $6,600 below MSRP. When I asked our local dealer if they could do better, they said no—for a customer order. They might deal more on a vehicle in stock.

I'm okay with that. It's not a bad deal for me, and it gives my local dealer some business. I'll likely receive additional incentives at delivery.

That sounds like a nice truck, if you like it go for it. Its easy to take the Kentucky Derby stickers off if you wanted as well.

Man, there is no love for the Kentucky Derby edition on this forum ;) If it were me, I'd be sure to keep those stickers...you'll have a rare truck one day!

I personally don't mind it. I wouldn't seek out a Kentucky Derby edition but if I found a limited optioned how I wanted and it was a Kentucky Derby edition I wouldn't let that stop me from buying it. I'd probably leave the stickers as well.

lol I actually live in Kentucky and they are taking off the stickers currently. He went down to 56,500 and up 2 thousand on my trade from anyone else so, I'm happy. Love the color more than I originally thought I would. Will be sure to post more about the process tonight. Time to go make sure the bumper is straight...
