Power Side Step Ripped off

Hi guys, I took mine to a welder it is fixed - it just needs to be reinstalled it's been cold here in Iowa.

I don't have all the broken parts from the bracket otherwise I'd have mine welded too. Anyone have any luck finding whoever makes these for mopar? My dealer is sympathetic and will give me good deal on assembly but it just seems so crazy when all I need is the brackets!

Like someone else commented check with AMP research. I believe they make all the power steps for ram, Chevy ect....

Any professional welder should be able to fab a new bracket. Check with a 4 wheel drive shop. If they can't do it they should know of a welder to point you to.

Thanks, I was hoping for the stock brackets because I actually prefer those cast pieces snap off under stress than whatever is the next weakest part up the line!

I can appreciate that. There's just no way I could justify paying a $700 stupid tax like the op did when you could fix it for under $100.

I couldn’t find the brackets nobody sells them.

Old thread, but I had the same thing happen. Drivers side as well. Carwash denied my claim. Just on principal I'm going to take them to small claims court. I'm having a hell of a time getting a dealer to tell me accurately what the replacement cost is. With my case the bracket that attaches to the board completely sheared off. I think that means you need to buy the whole board plus motor assembly, etc. Close to $1300 if that's the case. No chance I'm spending that for one side, you can buy both sides from Rough Country for $999. I'm so pissed.

Was in a guided car wash and on of their machines ripped the side step off. I had the truck raised to OR2 and the steps deployed so I know it cleared the tire guiding rails. I filed a claim with their insurance.

My question is... does anyone know if just the brackets that connect the step to the deployed can be bought? It looks like that’s all that’s broken was the bracket that connects it. Or at least I hope that’s all that was broken.
I was just driving down the road and the passenger side power step departed from the truck. There was no impact. I found the running board on the side of the road and the only marks on it were those created by it skidding off the road. There was absolutely no evidence of an external force. The dealer refused a warranty claim by stating that the brackets simply would not fail, (both in the same place). He could not show me evidence of a collision anywhere on the truck or power step. The dealer did not contact Stelantis and did not give me any documents to back up his opinion that "there is no way a bracket will fail".

My insurance company said that they fail all the time and they paid for the repair. I opted to purchase after market nerf style steps because the brackets for the power steps can not be purchased anywhere as they are part of the the motor. There rear bracket can be purchased alone for $$$.

The nerf style steps have no moving parts, provide rocker protection, and the insurance company estimate for the repairs included enough cash to have a dealer take the auto steps out of the ECU profile, pay for aftermarket steps and give me some money back.

The con would be that there is some reduction in ground clearance but we do not go off road so the con is moot.
