Spends too much time on here
What are you talking about? Even in 1970, a 440 6 pack got 375 HP. A current 5.7 gets 395 HP. In 2020 gas was less than $1.00.$1.00 a gallon and cars w power till govt stepped in about 1974

Sometimes it's 395. That's up to the electronic committee. First VVT has to make sure all the valves know what their marching orders are. Then the transmission has to decide if it wants to transfer that to the wheels or just recirculate back into the slush. Bringing up the rear is traction control and pesky stability control to hammer everything back into place. What are you talking about? Even in 1970, a 440 6 pack got 375 HP. A current 5.7 gets 395 HP. What was the outside temp? I drop 4-5 mpg from 40 degrees down to sub zero temps. Anything above 40 doesn’t seem to have any affect on gas mileage whatsoever.

Your statement said power before 1974, todays engines have more power. You said $1 a gallon before 1974. 2020 it was still less than a dollar. What am i talking about? If you were driving then, you just knew. Heres just one article:

Lawyers say: suppressio veri, which is Latin for suppressing truth, and is considered a false statement.I have some good laughs
The average price of gas per gallon in the US was about $2.20 in 2020. There were a few regional markets that had lower gas prices in the early part of 2020, but making a statement that gas was below a dollar a gallon in 2020 is misleading.
It may be down some, but we’ve got a ways to go to be back to the great economy we had pre 2020Seems like a lot of that is going around today.
January inflation was down. True, it was 6.4 down from 9 in July.
Nothing misleading. I was paying less than a dollarThe average price of gas per gallon in the US was about $2.20 in 2020. There were a few regional markets that had lower gas prices in the early part of 2020, but making a statement that gas was below a dollar a gallon in 2020 is misleading.

I did read what you posted. But the fact is it was a dollar and less back in 2020. The picture I posted has a picture of 88 cents a gallon. You didn't read what I posted.
I paid .85 a gallon for E85 many years ago during a special promotion when regular gas was $3.00 a gallon. Not exactly a fair comparison. Cheapest gas here in 2020 was about $1.80 a gallon.I did read what you posted. But the fact is it was a dollar and less back in 2020. The picture I posted has a picture of 88 cents a gallon.
That was at sam's club. 87 octane regular unleaded. they are cheaper than most, but all gas around me in metro Detroit was $1.I paid .85 a gallon for E85 many years ago during a special promotion when regular gas was $3.00 a gallon. You may have been in some dark corner of the universe, but that was hardly the national average. Quit looking through a pinhole, and look at the big picture. In the Pacific Coastal states it was twice that, and in some places more.Nothing misleading. I was paying less than a dollar

Blanket statements are such a PITA.
Having a special is nice, just not a good representation of the country as a whole. 88 is probably cheaper than regular 87 tho.Sure it may be a bit of an outlier. Just how ca high prices are an outlier. But Pa and surrounding states were doing a special on 88 fuel for $0.99. Not exactly a dark corner of the universe.

Pacific states would be dark hole in the universe. Everywhere in the country is cheaper. Southern states are usually cheaper than here. You may have been in some dark corner of the universe, but that was hardly the national average.
