Poor gas mileage

I have a 2022 Limited with the 5.7 and the best highway gas mileage that I get is 13.5 miles per US gallon. With my last truck, 2015 Laramie Longhorn, 5.7 I was getting 21 plus miles per gallon. Dealer said my truck is ok……right. Gas price here in Manitoba, Canada is $5.75 per US gallon.
If you go 55mph and set the cruise on a flat road, what does the instant mpg say? I’m leveled and never had my speedo recalibrated (so it reads worse than it is), and I get 20 to 22 instant mpg in this scenario

Leveling shouldn't effect speedo. Changing tire size does. Also wind resistance isn't a big factor til about 65, maybe a little lower when leveled. Air suspension goes to aero mode somewhere about 50 or 55 I think. But yes, at 55 on flat ground MPG should be above 20, or something is wrong.

Correct. That’s not what I meant sorry. I mean the level prob negatively affected mpg, but the tire size caused my speedo to be off which makes the mpg calculations lower than it is.

Your signature still shows standard tires. Unless you only had 18s and upgraded.

How so? My stock tires were 275/55r20 and my sig literally says venom power 275/60r20. So I went from 32’s to 33’s

Gotcha. I just saw 275/20 and didn't catch the 60. A couple Rams ago they were 60 series standard, and I forgot they changed.

I've lived in multiple. I'm actually in northern lower now, but lived and still have kids in northern suburbs. Macomb, Shelby, Sterling Heights, Clinton Twp. Grew up in Warren.
Ok. Yeah....I'm in Sterling Heights. 👍👍

Just drove 20 miles on a smooth flat road not much wind. Instant mpg was 22 to 24. No mds

Ikr! It basically makes my truck environmentally friendly!
You do have some sound political views, AND an environmentalist !
You are interesting and impressive!
I bet you’ve got a bunch of stickers too!

You:
common sense conservative views
green with 3.21
lots of stickers on the back of your truck

I think you could make a serious run in 24 if you are not low energy or have small hands!

Wrong about the stickers. I actually hate stickers of any kind on a vehicle.

I can’t run because I have a conscious, but All appendages are definitely normal sized! 😆

Something isn’t right with your engine for sure. I would only get that towing a heavy load.

Maybe his brakes are dragging or a bad bearing. My truck is leveled with 33's and 3.92 gears and my instant MPG's read in the mid 20's at 55 MPH.

Use GPS speedo and find the % difference between GPS and indicated. Multiply indicated mpg by that % and presto, your actual mpg (per the computer anyway).

Trip from RI to cocoa Beach FL and back 2020 Big Horn Hemi no etorqe 3.21s never allow it to go in eco mode20230226_172321.jpg
