How much weight can these trucks actually haul in the bed, anyone out there haul anything besides groceries yet, gravel? Firewood? Landscaping stone from Home Depot. Can they do better than 2000 pounds without dragging the bumper

My red/yellow sticker says 1,320lbs, and I've got a pretty loaded-up Limited. There was a thread on here a couple of months ago where the poster said they put 4,020lbs in the bed, and made it home. IIRC, it was a 10-mile trek across town, and he said that 55-mph lane changes were interesting.

Your best bet is to go to a dealer and check out the payload sticker for yourself, or ask one of the salespeople there to check it for you and report back.

All that said, I had me, my mom, and my toddler in my cab, with a 100+lb quartz countertop and 10 80lb bags of stone dust in my bed, and the truck didn't act like anything was back there.

A 4x4 half ton will not have a placard payload of 2000 lbs, but all should easily haul 2000 lbs.
The max payload for a half ton Ram is 2300 lbs and is with a V6 quad cab tradesman 4x2.

1970 is the most in a 4x4, a Hemi Quad Cab tradesman (if you debadge it you might hit 2000 ;) )

Not the best pic for assessing stance (driveway slopes)...this is loaded with z pallet of 12x12x2 pavers and several bags of sand...no idea what the actual weight was.

This is why I love the self leveling suspension...
About a 1000 lbs of mulch. Zero squat.

A crew cab DT truck will have a payload between about 1,000 and 1840 lbs. Each truck will be different, however, due to it's option content, and therefore weight.

Payload is GVWR - Curb Weight. So a 4x4 with a 5500 lbs curb weight will be 7100-5500 = 1600 payload.

It's on every trucks door jamb, in the tire and loading sticker text.

There are so many threads where so many of us explain this, it's not even funny.

1212 to 2302 is the range according to Google. @SpeedyV is our resident low payload champion...atleast last time I checked with 1069 and I do not believe we have anyone who posted at over 1900, I think the highest was 1875 when I was paying attention.

Good luck with that in a 1500...2500s are just under 3000lbs. Some 3500s are close to 3500lbs.

Some say that there is no legal implications but I have seen trucks weighed lately here in PA.

You won't be keeping that 1500 for 30 years if you haul that much often.

Why are you considering a 1500 now?

Do the regular 1500 rams have better/stronger rear springs than a ram rebel? I feel like my rebel squats quite a bit with even just a little bit of load in the bed or on the hitch. I feel like the payload and towing numbers are a bit misleading due to the weaker/softer springs that come on the rebel if that is the case.

I’m not really. Just ensuring myself the size truck I need

I hauled this much pea gravel which I'm sure may have exceeded my payload just a little.... Air suspension warning light came on but she was leveled still.

This guy should be pulled over , given a ticket, and not allowed to move until he reloads on to a different set up. BTW; to what is that strap alongside of the bed secured to?
Given that load, the side strap is probably connected via a single 500lb S-hook to the license plate frame. Only posers and urban cowboys need more than that!

OK, how do you calc? My sticker says GAWR Front 3900 lbs GAWR Rear: 4100 lbs with GVWR 7100

Thanks

Why can't they just calc the payload and print that on the sticker
