I've seen something similar to this on forums for previous cars and always found it interesting as to what members have owned and learning who has owned some of our past "dream" cars. So here it goes; past cars and future car you'd love to have in the garage. I suppose we could add age for reference.

1993 Nissan Sentra SE (blew up)
1994 Mustang GT Convertible (sold....major regret)
1996 Chrysler Cirrus (eventually sold for scrap)
1999 Ford Contour (sold)
1998 Ford Ranger (sold)
2007 Honda CBR1000RR (totaled...live and learn)
2005 Dodge Dakota Crew Cab 4X4 (sold, LOVED this truck)
2011 Ford Mustang GT (Fun, no emotional attachment)
1999 Buick Lesabre (used as daily driver for the Mustang, most comfortable car of all-time)
2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited (Loved, but was driving 20k miles a year and....this was not a highway car. Traded)
2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (Again, absolutely loved this Jeep, just wanted something bigger. Traded)
2019 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Limited 4X4 (Current - Cannot see myself ever not having a full-size truck as a daily driver from here on out)

The dream - 2003-04 Mustang Cobra or Saleen. I'm 31, so went to high school as a class of 2005, and these are the cars that I always dreamt of that "one day, I'll own it". When im driving on the road now, I'll see a C7 or new GT350 and go WOW, nice car. When I see a 03-04 Saleen, my heart skips a beat.

The car that REALLY sticks out to me is that 1999 Eclipse GSX. I loved that car, never got a chance to drive.

These are the cars I've personally owned (i.e. not counting all of the farm vehicles I drove as a kid, nor my wife's vehicles):
  • 1981 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.8L V6): Bought with 53K miles at age 16 ($1,300), sold with 70K miles ($2,300). Replaced water pump. Didn't seem to be running great when sold. Buyer blew the engine within 6 months. I think it may have gotten a second life with a V8 transplant.

  • 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (5.0L V8): Bought with 55K miles for college ($6,500), sold with 105K miles ($3,500). Replaced valve seals. The buyer bought it as a surprise for his 15-year-old son (so that they could spend a year wrenching on it until he turned 16). A much-enjoyed car...I wish I had kept this one!

  • 1991 Chevrolet Corvette (5.7L V8): Bought with 38K miles for graduate school ($16,400), sold with 70K+ miles ($11,800). Replaced alternator, 4 fuel injectors and fuel pump. Was a great "Grand Tourer" when dating my future wife long-distance (180 mi apart) for several years. Buyer used to build cars for Super Chevy magazine; he sent me pictures of himself and his wife doing a hot lap at Texas Motor Speedway in the car a year later, after he had blueprinted and rebuilt the engine.

  • 1992 Toyota Corolla (2.0L I4): Bought with 120K miles in order to afford a wedding ring ($750), sold with 140K+ miles ($500). Manual everything. Heater non-functional (never repaired). Needed new clutch at time of sale. Bought from and sold to the same person—the sales rep at MINI that I later purchased from below.

  • 2005 MINI Cooper S (1.6L S4): Bought new after getting married ($26K), sold with 20K+ miles ($22,300). Replaced engine mount, clutch slave cylinder, flywheel, and clutch under warranty. Didn't feel the same after clutch repairs, but I really did enjoy this one. The buyer tells me that it'll remain in their family forever.

  • 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LS (8.1L V8): Bought with 93K miles ($12,600), traded in at 124K. Replaced rear axle seals. Had a true dual chambered exhaust (unbelievable sound) and a 45-gallon Transfer Flow fuel tank conversion. Fuel prices soared and I panicked; I should never have let this truck go.

  • 2009 Honda Civic Si (2.0L I4): Bought this loaded Si coupe new off the dealer lot (~$6K off MSRP) after a 7-hour negotiation. Spent 40 days in the shop the first year, mostly due to a defective oil pump that the dealer couldn't properly diagnose (Honda of America eventually had to step in). In fact, the first dealer hid their mistakes from me. They broke off a bolt in the oil pan and filled it with putty. They also installed timing brackets incorrectly. It wasn't until I went to a second dealer that these issues were found. The navigation system was also replaced under warranty. The car was fun to drive at high RPM, but the lack of reliability and incompetent service were unexpected and frustrating. Sold after 15 months with 13K miles ($18,800) to a gentleman buying it for his young (and very excited) son. I'm confident that I worked out all of the issues with the car, and he may still be enjoying it today.

  • 2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD SLT Quadrasteer (6.0L V8): Searched high and low for my old 8.1L truck, or one like it. Instead, I stumbled across this unique truck with 91K miles being offered by a Houston dealership on eBay ($12,980), and I bought it almost immediately. Rented a car one-way, drove down and picked it up. That was just over 8 years ago, and I'm still happily driving it today with 170K miles (see signature).

(current vehicles are in 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen and 4th Gen forum. I will have to try to locate some others)
(I thought I already did this here but that was at Mopar Insiders)

My first car was a 1987 Aries coupe. Hit a deer with it and picked up a 83 Ford ranger 2wd for cheap. Then I realized I loved Mopars and couldn't take a blue oval any more so I purchased a 1980 Chrysler Cordoba 318 and quickly bought a 1977 Ramcharger 440 auto 4x4. BUB as my mom called it (Big Ugly Beast) it had 4 inch lift auto 35 inch tires.

Then I got married and inherited a 1987 GMC 305 auto 4x4. Sharp truck, but it didn't hold a candle to my Mopars. Traded it 2 weeks later on an 89 Ramcharger.

index.php

This is about 3 years after I bought it. I got it to plow my lane and do lots of camping and exploring.
I bought my wife a brand new 2000 Dodge Neon and we were set for awhile, until the neon was wrecked into and replaced by a 1998 2 door dodge neon sport coupe.

Then came my collection days. On my way back from Chrysler at Carlisle I purchased my dream truck a 1979 Plymouth Trailduster 360 4x4 auto 33 inch tires, oh man do I miss that truck. My sister in law decided to back into the side of it one day and ruined all the joys of my life...lol...so I went and bought a 1978 Powerwagon 318 auto 4x4 shortbed and then a 1977 Powerwagon 318 4 speed 4x4 shortbed that came with a 1987 Plymouth Sundance 2.2 5speed.

Then came my first 2nd Gen, a 1998 Blue Dodge Ram quad Cab shortbed 360 auto 4x4.
Got a job on the Railroad, moved had to sell the collection, and bought my wife a brand new 2006 Jeep Liberty that we traded the neon in on. Got moved to a further location with the rise in gas Prices and traded the 99 Ram on a chevy cobalt...ugh...but it was a 2 door with a 5 speed and got great mileage and that was all it did. Couldn't take it anymore and traded it on a 2010 Chrysler Sebring. We loved this car, but we got hit from a kid who ran a red light and it was totaled. Almost forgot...I had also purchased the Ram V10 I have now and traded the 2006 Liberty on a 2009 Dodge Caliber. Unfortunately other than the Ram V10 I have no pics of those cars and trucks.

Then came my second collection days when I bought this

index.php

And then this

index.php

Then we traded the caliber on a Kia Sorento 4x4 cause she wanted a bigger SUV and a 5speed, and I sold those 2 trucks and bought the 2013 Cummins which brings us to the current vehicles we own and are in the other thread.

Need to find the Pics I have of the Trailduster, I really miss it and will have another.

Just spent the day at Chrysler Nationals.

My wish list is 1970 plymouth roadrunner, 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, 77 Macho powerwagon, 79 Trailduster,
And after today and recent developments in FCA I want a scat pack widebody challenger, a Hellcat Charger, a Moparized 19 Ram 1500 and Rebel Trx.

My next vehicle will be a Powerwagon or a Manual Cummins...not sure which yet, will depend on the mood of the day.

Almost 30 years of Toyotas! What caused the change to FCA??

Was tired of 4Runner SUV's so I got the Tacoma. It was a good vehicle but wanted a full size(me being tall I had driver's seat all the way back and you couldn't have anybody sitting behind you) and looked at the Ram and looked at the Pentastar and drove it and really like it. Have had my Outdoorsman for almost 5 years now and like the full size truck. I can get 5 people in it and they would all be comfortable unlike the Tacoma.

Also like that I get better mpg in my Outdoorman than I could ever get in the Tacoma.

I've had a ton of vehicles over the past 19 years. I'd say probably about 10 Mustangs, including this 2002 GT that I bought brand new when I was 19, my first ever brand new car. Lowered it, put Cobra wheels on it, had a Superchip, short shifter, intake, exhaust, x-pipe, etc etc, the usual mods.

98cobras 006.jpg

Another notable one was this 89 LX, started as a 4 cyl auto car, swapped in a built 306 with a 350hp nitrous express plate kit, 5 lug swap and a T5 with a 8.8 rear end with a mini spool and 4.10 gears. After blowing the T5 up, I swapped it back to an auto with a TCI built C4. Spent a lot of time at the track with this car.

06mrpFRIsept1-102.jpg

My first car was an 83 Mustang GT, I modified it before I even insured it, unfortunately it was written off within 2 weeks of being put on the road due to a careless driver turning left infront of me. My second was this 86 GT T-top car that I ended up swapping the quarter windows, dash, taillights and eventually the front end from an 87-93 into. I also supercharged it and eventually sold it off for a mint black on black 90 LX 5.0.

86gt.jpg

Apart from Mustangs I owned 2 Cavalier Z24s as daily drivers when I had that built 89 Mustang that really only saw track time. The first one blew a transmission, the second one popped 2 motors. I also had a 98 Jimmy, 2003 Alero GLS and a few other GMs all of which gave me major problems which is why I am sour on GM.

cavalier 015.jpg

I've also had a 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited, 2003 Chrysler 300m Special, 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited, 2008 Mercedes C350 sedan, 2012 Mercedes C350 Coupe and a 2000 Ford F150 all were awesome vehicles.

Picked up this 2013 Focus to replace the Cruze 2 weeks ago. Very happy with it so far. Sorry for the picture quality phone lens was smudged.

20180701_121838.jpg

Still have my 2016 Ram 1500 Sport which I love but will be getting traded in on a 5th Gen soon enough although I admit I have a hard time with the idea of letting it go even as much as I like the 5th Gens.

2014-01-01 01.56.25.jpg

And still have this, my first ever motorcyle. 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650, I was going to pick up a Ducati but backed out at the last minute, I'll look into picking up a new bike next year.

20170725_175220resized.jpg

Like @alwi228 one of my bucket list cars to own is a 2003-2004 Terminator Cobra, I've driven a few and love them. Also want a 2015+ Challenger 392 Shaker or Hellcat, and I am reviewing a 2018 Durango SRT for MoparInsiders today so I'm sure I'll want one of those by the time I'm done. 2017+ GT350 Mustang is definitely on the bucket list, a friend of mine has one and I had it for a day last year, total blast to drive.

Yep, and most of them had a boat behind it!
There’s a particular spot I go to that’s 4.5 hrs, usually 2.5 hrs each way to get to the marsh for Redfish and Speckled Trout.

'78 Buick Estate Wagon - first car but had a 454 and I could get it airborne...
'74 Alfa Romeo Spyder - still have a piston on my desk from my first rebuild
'82 (I think) Toyota Supra - trouble in college
'81 BMW 320i - fun in college
'84 Ford Mustang 5.0 convertible - had a sweet 2nd gear (manual) but ate water pumps
'92 GMC Sierra - first new car
'84 BMW 533i - daily driver project car, rebuilt everything then sold over asking price to a float plane guy in AK (bought sight unseen and I loaded it in a shipping container out of Tacoma for him)
'00 Chevy Tahoe 4x4
- long streak of Ford fleet vehicles no one wants to remember, but did buy a '02 Ford Excursion diesel for wife's daily driver and to pull a heavy travel trailer. She's still driving it and won't give it up!
'11 Mercedes E550 - best, nicest car I've ever driven. Ram finally made a truck interior that made me jump.
