Hey all,
Search didn't yield any results so I'm hoping someone can chime in here for me...

I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie and today while driving back home I encountered one of those transitions in the pavement where it goes from "new" asphalt to the stuff that is being repaired. So not a hard bump like hitting a pothole but that kind of bump that makes the suspension compress relatively comfortably at interstate speeds (70mph here).

Anyway, when I went over the bump, it made my abs, traction control, cruise, and advance forward braking disable all in one shot. It eventually turned back on, but then another large sweeping bump like that made it turn off again. It did this 4 times until it just stayed off and now I just have a check engine light. Gremlins.

Anyway, somethings obviously amiss and I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow, but I was looking at the passenger side at the brake line and I'm curious if anyone can validate for me whether or not this is normal. The front passenger brake line seems to be making a very abrupt turn backwards, and to add to that, it looks like the ABS sensor line (im just guessing thats what it is) is choked below the brake line itself. I'm thinking this cant be good for either of them - can someone snap a photo of their front passenger side brake line? See attached for reference.

One photo is while the wheels are straight, the other one is with the wheels turned left (towards driver).

Thanks in advance!

Don't know any the brake line, but when mine did that, it was a short in the ABS wire in the rear where it goes over the axle. I did a 2 inch reverse level. My aftermarket exhaust was hitting it and melted the wire. So, a hard bump caused it to short and throw an error for awhile.

On my rebel the abs wire is routed above the brake line as to have no tension . Has anyone every worked on the truck(brakes, suspension)?

Mine are like DTS's. Did you buy your truck new? If you did then that's a factory mistake and it should be corrected under warranty.

You guys rule. Thanks for the replies! Those photos confirm what I was suspecting - someone made a boo-boo. haha

I have had the local service dept working on the vehicle for tire rotations and that pesky slow right turn grinding/humming noise (which still isnt fixed). Otherwise, nobody has touched it, not even myself. Calling my service manager today to get it straightened out (pun intended).

Thanks!!
