Order Tracking

So, when you work for the railroad you use your railroad connections to track your truck... I knew what car it was in, what position it was in inside the rail car, and that is landed in Selkirk, NY today!!! Should have it by tomorrow or Saturday the lastest...

I will say I was surprised how long it took from New Boston, Michigan to Selkirk, NY, took over a week... Weird....

What railroad do you work for?

Hello new bestfriend. How about finding out where my trucks at since apparently no one has any idea or ETA lol - Ram keeps saying it's on the train but no where or when it will arrive. It's been a week. Pretty sure it took the scenic route.
I don't know all the Rail Companies they use, I do know CSX runs New Boston, MI to Selkirk, NY... Luckily I have connections in both places as I use to run a car hauler and loaded out of New Boston a few times..

Just noticed another $1,000 rebate on top of employee pricing on the ram website. It's National 2021 Retail Bonus Cash 21CMA1. Expires 1/4

I just found out my truck is in paint. Last Thursday was D1. How long does the process take from paint to finished vehicle. I’d ask how long it will take to get to dealer once finished but I don’t want to get depressed.

I ordered a 2021 1500 Longhorn on 10/9/20. Found out today it was in JS (shipped to storage).
My timeline has looked like this:
Ordered 10/9/2020
VIN 10/13/2020
D1 11/2/2020
Build sheet 11/16/2020
JS 12/14/2020?

My salesman is trying to get more info, hopefully I get it by new years.

So annoyed, placed an order (so I thought) on 12/3. Gave a $250 deposit over the phone and asked for the VON and VIN (when available) the next day (Friday). Was told sure thing, followed up on Monday and was told he was mailing hard copies (really?). Followed up again on the 10th, was told they are in the mail. Finally showed up today (14th) with a postmark of the 11th... and all he sent was a receipt for the deposit and config preview sheet without a VON. So I followed up again and he just said this:
“I don't have the von yet, it takes a few days for the order to pass edit and then they assign it”
So I’m definitely being jerked around at this point right? It doesn’t take 11 days to get a VON does it?

Got my VON and VIN the next day after ordering

I had my VON the same day I ordered, and my VIN a couple of days later.

I never got a VON, but I got my VIN a couple days after ordering. Definitely within 7 days.
I've just been using that to track my truck.

The build is one of the quicker phases throughout the entire process. I think it’s about a day or two (max) in the factory getting built. Then it goes to the mopar shop for things like moldings, running boards, bed liners, etc. that should be pretty quick.

There are many stories here of people getting loaded onto a train soon after build (me) and some where their truck sits in the inspection stage for days/weeks.

After the build it’s just a waiting game. Rail is slow.

Does anyone know why RAM doesn’t have a direct link for customers to follow the build process?

I was hoping for something more direct without needing another person.

They used to have a system called VOTS. This was before my time when I started ordering trucks so I don’t know what it was like or why the got rid of it.

I get it, order tracking probably doesn’t increase revenue or likelihood of buying/ordering a truck but it’s just sloppy not to offer insight into something you ordered.
