Finally, I picked up my new Ram on Wednesday. Readers’ Digest version (for those of us who actually know what that is and who may have held one in our hands) on my order is as follows:
Ordered February 29, 2020. In late May, thanks to the good folks in this forum, I realized I would not be able to stand living with a puny 26 gallon fuel tank, so on May 30, 2020 I made a change to my order while it was still in D1 status to include the 33 gallon tank. I believe this put my Ram at the back of the line for the build, but I was willing to wait, and I am surely glad I did.
On August 5, 2020 I took the trek to Phoenix to pick it up from Bill Luke Ram.
Since getting it home, I have installed a screen protector, Carven cat back exhaust, and OPT7 light bar. For those of you who were adamant that the OPT7 would not fit with the multifunction tailgate, you are incorrect. I followed RamVader’s instructions and installed mine yesterday. I did remove my tailgate to open up the area of operation, but both RamVader and I can attest, it fits under the split tail. It is a very tight fit, but it does in fact fit. I also installed a BlendMount radar detector mount for my Escort Redline, with M1 camera. I removed the mirror housing and hardwired the power plug into the power for the windshield camera.
I know I should be posting some of this in the What Did You Do To Your Ram Today thread, and I will as soon as I get some time, but for those of you in this thread and in particular RamVader who was kind enough to remind me to post an update to this thread, I thought I would update you first. I also need to update BasicBark’s Pandemic Buyer’s thread soon, which I will do in short order.
Here are a few pics of my Ram and the Carven exhaust I installed last night (wife was happy to see one of many boxes of auto parts being removed from garage, but unhappy to see I turned garage in to auto repair shop preventing her from parking her Jeep her usual spot). My Ram is very dirty right now due to some rain where I live and covered with fingerprints due to my recent garage efforts, but once I get it cleaned up, the paint sealed, and ceramic coated, I will post some of my Ram when the crystal black can reflect my image like a mirror.
Up today/tomorrow for install are the RamAir CAI and Hellwig sway bar. I have the Husky mud flaps to put on too and some Lamin-X tint for the tail lights and headlights, along with the SprintBooster to install, and some LASFIT LEDs for the third brake light, but there are only 24 hours in a day and I do love this Ram, but other things in life are just a little more important.
