I’m at 10k right now just got serviced at 9887 and next service mileage is 13k is there something wrong with that? I cannot find the oil change recommended in the manual..Personal choice. A few threads here on it. Some do 1k and others do everything up to 7k. Many do the first a bit earlier just because of old habits and because why not. I did 4500.
When you say 13k is that what the oil change place recommended? If so, I never go by what the sticker says that they slap on the windshield. The system is intuitive and will tell you your recommended oil life left or like others have done you can change it out even short of what your oil monitor projects...I’m at 10k right now just got serviced at 9887 and next service mileage is 13k is there something wrong with that? Yes it’s what it says but I gues I’ll just wait till I get to 30% oil life remainingWhen you say 13k is that what the oil change place recommended? Ya agreed I bought the 10 oil change and tire rotations... but dealer after hours won’t now what’s going on had to pay out of pocket last week 54$ lol brand new truck and pay for oil changes right away???!My manual says "Wait for the system to tell you when to change it but under no circumstance should you exceed 10k miles or 12 months". So that's what I'm doing. I'm at a little more than 6 months and 3700 miles, and my system says I have 65% oil life left. I have no idea what the sensor is calibrated for, and how it knows this, but I bought a 6 oil change package from the dealer when I bought the truck (cheaper than getting it changed 6 times on my own) so at some point in the next several months I will schedule it in so I don't exceed 12 months because I for sure won't make 10k miles anywhere near then. I'll probably do it just before the winter and my guess is I will have about 5k miles on the oil at that point.
Most likely for me is that I'll end up with 1 oil change per year, because since I only use this truck for business it's unlikely I'll do more than 10k miles in a year as all the jobsites are within a few miles of my house.
(Good edit!)Just fyi, like mentioned above, the trucks oil life monitor will indicate when to change the oil. However, this assumes you are using synthetic 5w20 oil, as recommended per the manual as well.
I'm not sure I'd go the full 10k on non-synthetic or semi-synthetic oil...I don't think the oil life monitor does anything other than countdown the mileage based on 10k, so as an owner, you have to use common sense and know what's in your truck.
Edit: I did some digging for another thread and wanted to update this thread with what I found. The Oil Life monitor takes into consideration drive time, towing, and a few other things, so it's not just a countdown. However, it still will not know if you're not using synthetic oil, so I'd still adjust accordingly and check oil manually to see how it looks.

I had dealer change mine today to synthetic at 1700 miles. The build date is 7/18 so it sat on the lot for almost 10 months ( quad cab) .
That puts the oil at about a year old . Decided to get it out and whatever else is floating around in there. Going to regular intervals now. Strangely the ticket says 0W20 for the oil. Is that ok?
Tell me about it haha got 4-5 years worth when bought truck from dealer for package of ten oil changes and tire rotations and just noticed today they didn’t rotate my tires lolIt's mind boggling why dealers either don't know or tell you that these trucks come with 2 years complimentary maintenance that includes 4 oil changes
