New big screen is a POS

Have you tried disconnecting the positive battery terminal cable for like 10-15 mins?
I did this morning and I fixed the volume problem. But now the screen goes blank occasionally and I have to stop and put it in reverse and the backup camera will engage and I can go back to drive and it works fine.

As for the poster thinking you should expect problems I buy 2 new cars every year. I almost always get the latest technology. That's how I ended up with the new Ram. I have never a tenth of the problems I have had with this thing.

It's an awesome truck and they will work out the software problems over time but the air leak in the sunroof was bad.

Thanks for all the replies

LOL! Yep I love Lemon Law threats! Good luck trying to LL it on an infotainment problem. If I tried that in my state, they’d tell me to turn around, take my truck back to the dealership then go to bed.

UConnect has had a stellar reputation. Mostly because they kept it simple and functional. I’ve had a few niggles with my 8.4 4C in my 18 Power Wagon but it’s been just a few. However ALL of my previous 8.4 were completely rock solid. So it’s got something to do with the progression of the units and I believe some kind of change of the operating system. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong) in the end, They’ll get yours and any others sorted. They have a serious reputation to protect.

I have the 8.4 and had somewhat of a similar issue. My volume would go right to max volume with either the radio or the navi on. This happened during my entire trip SC back to NJ so I could not use the radio or the navi. The dealer could not replicate it because, of course, the truck went back to normal before I could get it in to the dealer. It has not happened again but just yesterday, only the back speakers worked when I used the Navi. I shut the truck off and walked away from it. When I started it again it was back to normal. I am going to videotape it then next time it happens.

I’m hoping for a update, sooner than later. It has a mind of its own for sure.

We are sorry to hear that you are having complications with the infotainment system in your new trucks. This is not the experience we wish to hear from owners with a new Ram. Please send us a PM with your VIN and mileage so that we can look into this further and document these concerns.

I have sent a PM and never received a response.
To be fair, the folks who monitor the @RamCares account never say they intend on a two way conversation, I have only ever seen them say they will add your forum comments to any ongoing file/case for you truck. If that is actually happening, who knows.

If @RamCares asks for you to send them a Private Message it is only fair to expect them to check their Inbox daily and once received, they should acknowledge that in a reciprocal PM. It only takes a minute and gives the customer piece of mind that their concerns are being met. I completely understand @whododat frustration

@Slim, I totally agree. I was just spitballing an observation I made about how they only collected complaints and rarely reply. They should reply to every single PM, they're getting paid to. We're the customers on our free (or not so free) time.
