Need Help - Need to replace 3.0L I6 Hurricane SO for a 2025 Laramie

Purchased a new Ram 2025 Laramie in June. With only 3,216 miles, one of the turbos had a major malfunction that send metal into the engine. The dealership mechanics, working with Stellantis engineers in Europe, have determined that the engine is a complete loss. That whole process took 10 days.

Here is where I need help. Before a new engine can be delivered, someone in Europe needs to authorized the shipment first. So far it's been 8 business days and no authorization. Who do I did to light a fire under to get me new engine?

That's horrible. Maybe @RamCares can help with this issue. I'm not sure I follow what the issue is though. Who in Europe needs to authorize the shipment? I'd be on the phone with my dealership daily wanting updates if this was happening to me. Where are you located?

Nobody here is that deep in Stellantis to be able to do that, or even know who to ask.

I am in Indiana. The way it has been explain to me, all major warranty work goes through and gets approval in the support center in Europe. The process is very painful.

Long blocks are not on restriction, complete engines need star to authorize. If they worked with star they would release the part for order once the engine was determined it needed to be replaced. There are 14 complete engines available at PDC.

Whoever said they need permission from Europe isn't very well informed.

If the Ram brand can't authorize a simple thing like an engine. Stelantis is not a well run business. Good companies don't micro manage, they put good trustworthy people in charge of their area of expertise. If a CEO has to ok time sheets, they aren't doing their job, they're not doing what CEO's are supposed to do.

Unfortunately what he has been told by the dealership is false. There is zero contact with "Europe", they have warranty and powertrain centers for this exact thing. The only time you need to contact them for engine authorization is for new engines(like the 3.0) and Cummins. There are times Star has to verify the diagnosis and release the part for order. The 3.0 is not on restriction, the dealer can order it for stock, when replacing they need proper documentation.

Easy there Cbty2050. My understanding is that the communications with engineers in Europe was to do a root cause analysis on why the turbo did what it did. I am not seeing a rash of turbos blowing up, so lucky me. From what I am being told, the 3.0 SST is on restriction, so Star needs to release the order.

I am new to the CDJR world, who or what is "Star?" If this Star is my bottleneck, how do I contact them?

Star case is basically just a special request to engineers to investigate and assist with troubleshooting. cbty2050 is a dealer tech at a Ram dealer, so has a bit of inside information.
