Multiple Uconnect issues

Bought my 2019 Limited Memorial Day weekend and have been having the following issues:

1. Loses connection to SIRIUS: occasionally on start will not connect with SIRIUS and reverts back to the demo channel

2. Occasionally switches to FM radio: Sometimes if the radio was on SAT radio when the truck was turned off, when it is started again the radio switches to FM

3. SAT Radio sometimes has a blank screen: Have to switch the input and go back before the channel info shows

4. "Device not connected" error: Not sure what this is. The only device I connect is my phone and it was showing as connected.

Was driving today and everything seemed to be going well including the Nav. Then tonight I started driving and noticed the following:
1. Nav was not giving directions verbally or on the screen, the same turn Stayed on the screen even though I made it
2. Volume stopped working from the wheel and the knob until I turned the radio off and on again
3. Sound only coming out of the passenger side lower speaker
4. Voice command non functioning, press the button and nothing happened
5. Assist could not complete the call and tried again and again
6. Could not make a call using the steering wheel controls or the touch screen

What a horrible experience driving my expensive truck home for two hours with all of that not working.

Ya I’ve had a few of those issues. A software update should fix them. Although a disappointment I myself am not concerned and am just waiting for an update. I work for a Honda car dealer. We have had multiple issues on some of our cars too, updates always follow and fix the issues. It’s the price we pay for having so much going on instead of just a stereo.

I’ve never had a phone call issue or a Nav problem. Sometimes a good reboot by disconnecting the battery for a while. fixes a lot.

As I suspected it appears what it needed was a “reboot .” When I started this morning I got the splash screen on startup and the five dots flashing as the system started, and then everything worked again.

The thing is...it seems the system only “boots” like this after the vehicle has been idle for a long time. I was trying to get it to reboot last night by restarting the vehicle, but it didn’t work. When I restarted after a minute or so the system just came up without the splash screen or little dots.

Does anyone know how to force a reboot?

I would say disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 30 minutes...that should force a reboot of the Uconnect system.

It sounds like you got a bad unit. My 12" only has one issue and that is the screen stays on after I turn off and exit the truck, while i am talking on my phone, after transferring from the truck to my phone. I had one time, that the left controls would not work on XM, but did for everything else, but I believe the truck got too hot.

At the dealership, I have seen a 12" screen freeze, for 10 minutes, and when I went back out to see if it was fixed, half an hour later, it worked like normal. no update as of yet, for the software.

If the battery restart does not fix the issue FCA issued a service bulletin where they have to replace the whole unit then

Took the truck in to have it checked out. I was told there were some bulletins on the radio. Hopefully something will solve my issues. The service manager said there is no way to force a reboot of the system. I find that hard to believe.

I posted about this same issue in the UConnect section but hadn't seen a reply by anyone yet. This is so dumb, the radio should shut off when the door is opened and disconnect the hands-free link.

Picked up the truck today and was told that there was a TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) and they flashed the system. But as soon as I started the vehicle, blank screen. It seems like they are coming closer to dealing with the volume issue. Some SAT stations have great volume now, but others are still lacking. Not sure how that happens. So far everything appears to be functioning, but I have my doubts that the issues are over. Screen Shot 2018-07-13 at 10.01.10 PM.jpg

I like the answer for the hood. Parts on order . It's a tube of window urethane and will do 3 vehicles. They telling you they don't have 1 single tube in the whole building. The body shop should have some.

Not every dealer has a body shop, and dealers generally don't do windshields either. I don't think it's unreasonable they don't have the exact P/N specified.

There is a TSB for the hood flutter you would have thought they would have ordered some for the vehicles they have on the lot.

Not if the vehicles they have on the lot were built after the dates affected, and also they need new (14) hood push pins to secure the insulator pad

So they are only concerned about cars on their lot? not ones they have sold and or will service? Poor excuse.

It's just a TSB not a recall. Dealerships don't order parts for TSB's. One, there are hundreds of thousands of them floating around. Two, they are for techs to research /check when presented with a customer concern/complaint that isn't easily diagnosed or fixed. Three, just because it comes up on this international forum doesn't mean every dealership in the world will be presented with this issue.

Exactly, and the bulletin was produced 2 weeks ago.
