Mark Dodge Thread

Has anyone ever had Mark Dodge ship their truck to them instead of going to get it? If so, what was that experience like?
Mine came on a small 2 or 3 car hauler. They are independent contractors, so they are not part of Mark Dodge and the shipping fee is not part of the deal. I see people saying they paid $1 a mile, which might have been true months ago, but I paid $1500 for about 1100 miles. You are in control of who you choose and how much you pay. I think I dealt with Cody (at Mark Dodge) he said they had put out a quote to deliver to Colorado for $1200 and a previous delivery last month and no one wanted it (no contractor accepted the offer). So for me he suggested we put out the bid for $1500 and I agreed. It was cash on delivery, as the driver only accepted cash. I had my truck two days later. There was some weather between me and Louisiana so with the way national deliveries have been lately I didn't think $1500 was a bad deal. You can put out your own bids if you like, and maybe get it cheaper, but I did not want to deal with vetting my own delivery company etc. I would have loved to gone there in person and picked up my truck and met everyone. But I didn't have the time to take off work. Here is the picture I took of my truck and the Jeep that was being delivered to Boulder from Mark Dodge also.

I had mine delivered to Orlando. The only negative I can say is that you don't get to the dealership to inspect it first. I have paint damage on one door that looks like hydraulic fluid splashed on the door. Was it there when it was on the dealer lot, who knows because I didn't see it for weeks, so I probably wouldn't have seen it at the dealership as it's only visible from certain angles.

But, dealing with Mark Dodge, they told me to let them know of any damages and they would cover the cost. I had a door ding on the driver door and this paint issue. I fixed the dent myself and never told them about the paint. Aaron asked me to send them a bill for the dent, but I didn't do that either (I do PDR, so it was no big deal) The delivery was painless, and it was to my door.

Had mine delivered to NY and was fortunate enough to have no damage at all. Had the choice to wait until morning or take delivery around midnight, so naturally midnight it was:

Truck has been flawless since that day (June 10th) and the first 10,000 miles. Hoping for many more.

I don't know the current shipping rates and realize gas has gone up. But have to wonder if some truckers are still mad at Colorado about the 110 year sentence they gave that driver who crashed and would charge more to go there?

Maybe, but the governor reduced it to 10.

Haha when you're right, you're right. Will look forward to seeing yours, the wait is definitely worth it!

You definitely are. They do have 47 2022 models on their lot or in transit right now and the vast majority of them are 4x2's.

MD uses a third party "marketplace" to put out bids for the delivery. You can determine what price you're willing to pay but they are good about letting you know what recent bids have recently been accepted for your trip. Only took a day to get from MD to ATL and had no issues with damage. Their shipping department was very helpful as we had to deal with one shipper who never showed up and reposted the bid for another to pick up the following day.

How much was the freight? I'm in Birmingham and I have dollar amount in mind, but I still think it's going to be cheaper for me to do a fly and drive.

Hey folks, been lurkin for a few months educating myself on deals and options and dealer reviews. While the convo related to MD is on shipping, I wanted to jump in and ask if anyone's shipped to the west coast. I lived in the Mobile/Pensacola area for 30+ years and moved out west about 5 years back now. I could definitely fly and drive back cheaper than ship but I'm not too keen on adding 2500 miles + multi day drive back.. figure shipping may run 1.5-2k.

Based off local prices, most dealers are wanting 3-6k over MSRP, so even if MD had a MSRP price it'd still be cheaper to order them and ship.

anyone shipped coast to coast? able to verify that a ship rate of 1.5-2k is what I would expect?

I’ll let you know in a month when I shipped to Cali, but someone mentioned a few pages back paying $1500 to ship from MD to Colorado

I would call them and ask, as my 1100 mile trip was $1500 cash. The bid was accepted the next day. Or you can find and vett your own shipper. I shipped my sons car 1200 miles for $600, but that was a few years ago.

When I ordered in December, I was told shipping estimate was anywhere from $1 to $1.50 per mile. I am close enough to be in there free delivery area, so will either let them drive it to me or will go pick it up when the time comes. MD will be way under MSRP...

Off topic, does anyone know if MD has swag? I was thinking it would be nice to have a snap back trucker hat from their dealership. Has anyone here been to thier dealership and seen their accessorie store and know if they sell clothing and hats?
I really didn't want to bother my salesperson just to ask.
Thanks

I checked when I picked mine up! Was looking for the same thing. All they had were the standard FCA?Ram merchandise! Gave the ladies at the counter a friendly/joking earful about how disappointed I was!:(
