Mark Dodge Thread

For those of you that ordered at MD and took a flight to drive it home:
Flights can be more expensive when using short notice. Not really knowing when the new truck will actually be ready, how do you work the airline pricing to your favor?
Jim
That's ONE of the reasons I'm renting a car and driving 667 miles.

Yeah in the picture they sent it looked like it was sitting on gravel/grass so I imagine it's in the back. I doubt they will display mine like a showpiece since I asked them not to wash it. So it's going to be DIRTY!!

Thanks for the tip about Darrell's! If our timing works as planned we will be leaving the dealership around lunchtime.
We ended up getting an Airbnb and stayed the night. Went to Shwarmas and Daiquiri Shack. Both were pretty good.

I flew into Houston, booked a flight from Vegas 3 days before and it was $150 so not bad at all. The one way rental with Avis was almost as much as the flight which was annoying but it is what it is. New Orleans is a little further but you might be able to get good deals into there also. Houston and New Orleans are the 2 closest main airports to Lake Charles.

I waited a week, didn’t really have a choice with my schedule anyway. One way to Houston was pretty cheap, if memory serves me correctly less than $200

As someone who joined them a year ago to get the discounted pricing...I think they discount RAMs very well. That's the limit of my knowledge of their organization. ;)

(Oh, the tire coupons helped, too!)
Tell us more about these tire coupons! I did not join because I already had affiliate pricing through work, but I am due for tires on a couple of cars and I’m happy to spend $100 if it is worth it

I’ve skimmed through most of this thread and I didn’t see an answer I’m seeking, unless I missed it.

Is MD price a no haggle price, or do I need to work a deal? Most of what I’ve read, beside signing up with something like “Tread Lightly”, you just send them what you want and they give you their only price. Also, how does the trade in work if my build would not arrive for 5+ months? Obviously, in that amount of time, my truck value will drop due to mileage and age.
I got such a good price I was embarrassed to even try to haggle--and don't like doing that anyway.

They estimated X,XXX miles added to my Jeep by the time the truck arrived and based the quote on that. I suppose had I wrecked the Jeep in the meantime, that might have created an issue, thuogh.

Exactly! After shopping about a dozen dealers in Georgia and hearing MSRP or MSRP + or we'll order with a 1k nonrefundable deposit and we will tell you what the price when the truck comes in......I was SHOCKED when Aaron gave me his price!!! I couldn't say yes fast enough, no negotiating! And even with all of the price and option changes and reordering, they honored my original price!

And not really sure how this went down but when he was finalizing the documents FCA had a 900+ credit that confused both of us. He said needed to check with his rep to double check before he gave me a credit that he may have to take back. He called back in 5 min and said the rep wouldn't/didn't answer the phone so what the hell and gave it to me anyway saying I deserved it!!

Anyone want to guess where I will buy my next FCA product?

So no change to the quoted price when paying for your trucks? My MSRP increased >$3k since I ordered and just checking with those of you who just went through this. Mine’s on a train now 😊

I ordered my truck on 10/8 and it was just delivered to me. Price was the same as they quoted (except for the tow mirrors that I added in Nov before D1 status) there were still decent incentives and they let me get them the PenFed trucar code for an extra $500 off. I ended up with $2000 rebate and 0% for 48 months. I felt like it was an excellent deal close to 17% off MSRP. Definitely would do again!

Thanks for the intel!

Depending on delivery date, I may get Jan or Feb incentives. My quote from September is ~14% off current MSRP, not including any incentives. I have PenFed, but went with Access Fund vs. Tread Lightly and mine seems to have expired (with now no time to join the other). Also looking at the 0%/48 month rate. I’ll be happy with these for sure, and what incentives are offered in Feb is unknown and not likely to improve (my speculation).

Also waiting for the truck to arrive to price out my trade (local sale vs trading in).

Feels like the process is wait, wait, wait…then run!

My plan is to just see whats available when I have a more definitive ETA from the dealership. Flights can depend on where you're flying from too. For me, there is a flight I can book that puts me in Lake Charles by 11am for around $300 that holds at that price even if I was booking it TODAY to leave tonight.

By the time I rent a car, drive 8.5 hours out there and get a hotel, I've spent the same money and taken more time. If I can fly for less than $500 and not need a hotel, I'm good with it. I do plan to ask about a shipping estimate but I'm just still really uneasy about having a truck brought to me and dropped off sight unseen.

We really thought about flying but since there are two of us making the trip it was a couple hundred cheaper to rent/drive even with a hotel. That and my annoyance with flying today made the decision easy. It doesn't hurt that we are retired and time isn't an issue. AND our route will take us through Biloxi and I need to get back the cash I left there the last time!

Biloxi is dangerous. Keep me away from that craps table lol.

We were in the same boat with my wife and I making the trip. Our rental was one of the Hendricks Camaros, too, so that was fun.

That makes sense. I'm old (41), but not retired, and I have little kids at home so it'll be solo and as quick as possible for me. 😛

OLD!! Hell man I've got under ware older than you!! Everyone has different circumstances and taylor their plans accordingly. Your plans make sense, if I was going solo, I world do the same.

@KWKSLVR our trucks may be ready around the same time. Mine should hit the assembly line next week too. What does your POC say for ship date? Mine says 2/2/22
