Hey y'all,

I have a 2021 Limited Ram 1500. only 40k miles on it w/ extended warranty. The newest problem I encountered was the truck seizing up while I was driving, it completely died. Come to find out it needs a Motor Generator Unit and supposedly there is a nationwide shortage on that part. They have no idea when my truck will be fixed, wont give me loaner truck as they said I need to rent a truck on my own and they will reimburse me. I'm skeptical on that process and them actually reimbursing me... :cautious:

All my sensors in truck had an issue, I have already had the gas tank replaced (cause the gas pumps thinks the gas tank is full) The problem still persists after the repair...This truck has been nothing but a problem since I've got it.. Truly having my doubts about this truck, and RAM as a whole. Has anyone else or anyone else having a similar issue/experience..??

Any advice would be helpful... I know there's not much I can do , but thought I would come on here to see what people have to say! Thanks!

40011 miles, need a motor. Tomorrow is my 8 week anniversary at dealership. Original ETA by service adviser was 2 to 3 months.
8 Week Anniversary :ROFLMAO: -- Man that is absolutely crazy... Did they give you a loaner?

No, I believe I can receive some $ for a rental via the lifetime warranty.

Not sure where the blame goes for the delay. I was informed up front by the service adviser 2 to 3 months.

Maybe Ram wants me to buy another one! Of course I'd have to keep this one (if I ever get it back) as a back up in case I need warranty service on the new one. But than what do I do if both need warranty service at the same time?
Not sure where to go from here. How long can this go on? Legal action? And who do I take action against?

I have a lawyer for house closings, wills and estates. I'm sure he can direct me in a course of action to follow.

I'm not one to take warranties. I do believe the warranty is causing delays and I'm sure the dealership would prefer my hourly rate vs warranty work.
Right now it is the serenity prayer.

When I had my 2015 RAM in for air ride issues at the dealer, I had Max Care warranty… at time of purchase, Mac Care was lifetime for the original owner. I know that’s changed now, both in original owner, and they cap either miles or years.

The contract states a certain dollar amount, up to 7 days I think…. It’s not a lot of money, may not even cover a rental…but anything is better than nothing, so your call.
When I went through this, I submitted the rental agreement through the dealer, I got a check cut to me from Chrysler.

Did it cover the whole cost? No. It covered what they said it would (like $35 a day…or something like that).
My advice? Get the steps documented from the dealer as to how to get and get reimbursed for a rental.
Read the contract on what is covered, how much, for how long.

I know this doesn’t help long term, but if it’s just a short relief…

Ram is supposed to call me back today but the original convo I had with them, they stated they are going to cover the entire cost of my rental, I will double check on that... 35$ a day is laughable...
