She's beautiful.
And I like the scarf, it's very festive. I'm going to have to make my dogs some for next year.

So we got a younger brother for our girl that lost her big brother in 2021. Typical "We'll go take a look" and less than 10 minutes later we were walking out with him. The mom and 9 puppies were found under a crack house right after Thanksgiving. Good ole Memphis.

I just read through this thread and I love it. I am an absolute dog person. That said here is our Havanese, Ruffles. We got her from a rescue about 12 years ago. She getting up in age but she's still full of energy and totally spoiled. She hates car rides but loves camping.

This is Bane. He is a Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff). He is quite chill for a puppy and has been very good so far. We usually have English Mastiffs and have had a Bull Mastiff and Neapolitan Mastiff. We love their very laid back personalities. This is our first DDB and we have had him for a couple months now and he is now about 20+ lbs heavier than he was in these pics.

We just drove over 4 hours today to the MK9 Veteran K9 Ranch to meet and adopt our new family member from the Mission K-9 Rescue.

Introducing 9 year old Belgian Malinois Military Working Dog Messi.

MWD Messi has quite the history!

MWD Messi served in the Connecticut National Guard.

He was part of the only Active National Guard K-9 unit in the country.

Messi was a dual purpose PEDD (Patrol Explosive Detector Dog) and worked many state and federal missions.
Including many United States Secret Service missions and a deployment to Iraq.

We fully intend to give this deserving boy lots of well deserved attention and spoiling.

Bain definitely has a class act to learn from. Give them good lives, I know you will.

Both good looking dogs.
And kudos to you for rescuing the retiree. They deserve to have a pet life too. I love to hear about people doing this.

Also just a heads up in case you haven't had a PEDD before. He may indicate on random items when you're on a walk with him. Just like the humans they worked with, if he's used to scanning for IED's he may see something sketchy even if his nose doesn't pick up explosives. It's not uncommon, so don't panic, it's probably not a bomb. 😁

Haha. We joked about the fact that we are glad he is not a drug sniffing dog because he would probably never leave one our neighbors alone. 😄

Dogs and Trucks are the best! Wife’s are pretty good too ! 🥰
Heartbroken 🥲
I lost my Big Buddy King George on Wednesday. He went out on his own in the backyard. Not unexpected I think he was telling me it was time but we are still devastated including his little canine sister Ruby. He was the best $100.00 bucks I have ever spent on Craig’s list! He lived a good long life twelve and a half years for a big guy 120 lbs and he was my best man when we were married on the dog beach in San Diego. Thankful for the time we had, the memories and even the white hair I’ll never get out of my REBEL!
