LED Lightbar hooked to high beams

Has anyone done this? I tried to tap into wires that go into the high beams but that did not work. Can I tap into any of these wires? This is in front of the drivers side wheel.

Tap power. Basically, when I put high beams on, the light bar will come on. I hardly use high's but when I do, it would be nice for the bar.

I’m not knowledgeable about which wire powers the high beams, but you really shouldn’t tap power there for the light bar. You should tap a relay to give the signal, and power should come from a fused source (either aux power or directly from the battery terminal).

Thanks, I was on the fence.. I will run the actual switch to turn it off/on into the cab.. It will be done correctly atleast.

I tapped the high beams to trigger my lightbar. I would have preferred if there was a fuse in the box for highs like every other vehicle I've had, but there isn't. I had to tap into the high beam wire going into the housing.
That wire is run to the trigger on a relay. I also have a switch in the cab so i can turn the lightbar off for inspections or such.

I'd much rather have instant flick the highbeam lever then have to struggle to locate the switch on my dash.

i plan to 3 way a light bar when i do it. that way i can manually turn it on and off or float it with the high beams.

Did you do this yet? This is exactly what I want to do UT not sure if I need to pigy back a new relay. How did you do it us the high beam to power the one relay and a switch for the other? I can't picture it in my Head. I'll have to go out and mess with it.

you can't really have dual input into one accessory.
also you really shouldn't mess with the OE harness because if something goes wrong, you're gonna be looking at an expensive repair bill.

what you SHOULD do, on the other hand, is to use a Switch-Pro 9100 with a built-in secondary trigger.
Run that secondary trigger to the high beam fuse slot via add-a-fuse, then set it up in the app. That way, you can set it to automatically turn on with high beam, or manually turn it on all using the same switch.

the only downside is, Switch-Pro 9100 is a $650 unit, so not sure if having a light bar that turns on with high beam warrants that. BUT, on the plus side, you will have one of the only two Made in USA, high quality, and reliable panels out there that are packed with features.

but if you're not running quality lights like Baja Design or KC Hilites... i don't think it's gonna worth it for you.

Appreciate this a ton! One of the other issues seems to be it doesn't seem as if there is a fuse for the highbeams but rather a driver from the bcm. I've been digging around trying to locate the fuse location and or relay. But I keep coming up "short" (electrical pun intended)....

And I have a mictuning switch panel currently. Not fully wired up yet. Just laid out. I was originally thinking if I ran 12v from the highbeams power to the 30 of a relay and the switch to 86. Then the switch would activate the coil and the light would only come on when 12v from highbeams tap Would power 30?... I've literally fried my brain trying to figure it out. I have the bar working fine with single toggle switch into the relay as intended. Just trying to get button one to operate with the auto high beam and ability to turn it of when in city, and button 2 just be a typical latch operation. If that even makes sense. I need a few days off to iron out my wrinkles.

nah don't mess with the stock wiring.
electrical is honestly not FCA (Ram and Jeeps)'s strength... much better to leave it alone and do your add-ons on its own separate system so if you need warranty work they won't deny you.
