Leaking rear slider

Well i have a 2017 laramie eco that is now getting wet inside. Thanks to all for posting your info , i'm goona go snoop around and see what gives. will be calling my dealership in the morning to see what can be done. This is a bummer. 3yrs of ownership and now it's leaking... no bueno!! The electronics are hating it. Corrosion will be setting in for sure. ugh.

I just picked up a 2020 (build date 8/20) that has about 350 miles on it and just noticed the rear window leaking. I noticed wet marks behind the rear seat headrests. I have an appointment schedule for this Friday. Here we go...

My 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 also has a leak, but not sure where it is coming from. I have replaced the gasket around the 3rd brake light, no help. After looking at the pictures on the thread, I went with a flashlight to look for cracks and/or water marks and found none. It looks like the carpet/padding behind the seats is starting to separate from the back. I still see no water marks. Is there a way to get the seat back to come forward?

I also think the cracking of the window surround could be related to water not fully draining out of the area and then freezing. When freezing, the expansion of the water could be causing the framing to crack?

Does your truck have a panoramic window?If so, have you checked the grommets for the drains going through the back of the cab?

Dealer states its from the cracked frame that appears extremely common based on this thread but MaxCare won't cover it, $1800 is what the Dealer wants. Moral to the story, check out those frames cause if you are out of warranty it's gonna cost you big and don't expect MaxCare to cover it.

Maybe suggest you pay the labor and they warranty the part as a goodwill gesture if they won't go for the full shot..

That sucks, though if it were me, I would consider using sealant to fix the two side cracks from the top, then use a black decal to cover the small cracks on the inside. Someone did something similar on this forum.

I honestly may do that even if I was under warranty, because I'm not sure I want the dealership trying to fix this (or their 3rd party glass shop) only to scratch and damage a bunch of stuff in the process. And then only to have it crack later again.

Both FCA and GM have this issue since they are both using the same windows, but based on both forums I read (since the wife has a Silverado), GM seems to be doing a better job at helping customers. Maybe a big reason why GM dealerships are near the top of customer service surveys while FCA is near the bottom on dealership ratings.

Just to rub salt in the wounds, they did a $45 computer update and now there is no sound from my radio. So I'm out $45 and entertainment in my car but I still got my $1800 and leaky window....

Havn’t heard back from the dealer on their diagnosis / estimate and not looking forward to it based on what I’ve read here.

I would ask your dealer to elevate this, or contact Ram Customer Care yourself. In the past I've not seen too many warranty claims rejected that close to the warranty expiration date. In any discussions, I would advise them that you are aware of number of failures associated with this part.

Thanks, I've contacted Ram Customer Care and will probably be heading back to the dealer. The dealer didn't give me a price and just referred me to a glass company. Hopefully the dealer I purchased it from will handle this better, but there is a reason I've always serviced at another dealer locally because the experience there was just not very good previously.
