My February build Longhorn, also 3.92 gears and 5.7 non-eTorque shifts smooth as silk...This feature alone has a buddy of mine considering trading out of his King Ranch...
That’s completely normal. Most trucks run that. My old 96 Grand Cherokee 4.0 I6 did that, my 2002 Ranger V6, 2008 F150 5.4 (3.73 gears), 2013 Wrangler (3.73), and 2016 F150 3.5 Ecoboost (3.55’s) all hovered at 2k around 70.I haven’t had any shifting issues, I just have what I think is high rpm at 70. I have 3.92 gears and at 70 the truck is pushing 2k rpms. I’ve got less than 1400 miles on the truck. I was going to talk with the dealer this week about it. It seems very high for only doing 70.

What does doing the reset actually do? What is it clearing or rebooting for it to have this effect?I've said on here many times, doing a battery reset gave my Ram better throttle response than adding a Pedal Commander did. Glad others are seeing this as well!
Would this work with an Etorque. I think the 48 volt battery feeds the electronics in the truck. I wonder if the battery behind the rear seat is disconnected when disconnecting the battery.I've said on here many times, doing a battery reset gave my Ram better throttle response than adding a Pedal Commander did. You Know, I have a big horn crew. It rides beautifully. I rented a laramie in minnesota and was really surprised at how much rougher it was than my truck. It was also louder inside where mine is very quiet. Go figure. I have still have issues with the trans bumping when slowing down. Been to the dealer twice. Now its has a light rumble on take off. That didn't get resolved either.Hi dutchman187,
We understand your frustration. If you decide to have your dealer address this and would like an extra layer of assistance, please send our team a private message!

150 miles ago I had my Rebel in for 3 recalls, power pedals, ground cable and airbag. They told me I needed flashes for ECM, Trans and Hybrid which I assume is fore etourqe . I’m so pissed. I should have known better and said no! It was so smooth before and now shifts are rough especially down. It holds in gear too long which is killing MPG and acceleration is choppy. $50,000 truck I hate everytime I drive it. Why do I keep going back to Mopar. It’s 1 pm in Vegas and I need beer already to make me forget!!! Hope yours gets better man.So my Limited is at the dealer for the two recalls and my rear brakes being replaced per the TSB (groaning). They gave me a 2019 RAM Laramie. Immediately upon driving it, I noticed it drove smoother when accelerating. I don't mean roadwise, I mean when hitting the gas and when decelerating, there was no harshness. There was nothing noticeable at all and it seemed to be very, very smooth. I also noticed that my mpg was about 3 mpg better than on my limited driving the same routes all day that I normally do. I was averaging 14-15 when going up hill at 72 mph.
I'm trying to figure this out now as to why. Here's what I know. They are both the HemiV8, non-etorque. They are both 3.92 gears. Mine has a little over 4,000 miles. This rental has a little over 2,000 miles, so "break in" is not the issue.
I'm sure mine being the Limited with Ramboxes, cover, and running boards makes it heavier than the rental. That could be some of the mpg part, but I'm not sure if it really is shifting smoothness part.
In November 2018, they ran a TCM/PCM update to fix my shifter knob issue (lurching out of drive occasionally). I told them right after they did that my shifting was not as smooth and harsher at low speeds. The said it needed to relearn and to give it a few hundred miles.
Basically, at low speeds like in town, it feels very much like a four wheeler does when you keep it in 2 gear. Kind of bogged down until you get up to 5th gear and it smooths out. I assumed that was maybe just my 3.92 gears, BUT this Laramie is 3.92 and it is smooth as butter on accelerating and decelerating (not braking, just coasting and letting it shift.)
So what do we think? Should I ask if there is another trans update that will smooth mine out? It does make sense to me that my mpg is worse on mine if it is keeping it in low gears longer than needed or not shifting properly.
I'm looking for this answer as well. How do you perform a battery reset, and what will the reset actually do? Is it as simple as removing the terminals for a period of time? And what are the effects of the reset? What does doing the reset actually do? What is it clearing or rebooting for it to have this effect?
