Just sold to Vroom...

On my way up 40 then US 421 through the mts and then into far eastern Tn I saw 3 Ford and 2 RAM dealers. Pitiful amount of trucks on their lots. I think the most was maybe 30 (used too) and the least was a RAM dealer with like 6.

Oh, I hope this is an ad typo or new prices are really going crazy… Please tell me it’s a typo! 🤔😬😬

It's a typo. You can click on "show window sticker". Or they are charging for aftermarket accessories with the truck. Or they are just crooks:ROFLMAO:

That is insane. And that price includes the rebates!

Always love seeing the ridiculously crazy markups on these dealer lifted/modified trucks. I feel especially bad for the people that buy them, apparently this one has about $27,000 of accessories!

I'm sure it will hold it's value though when the owner wants to sell or trade it in :ROFLMAO:

I am still hanging onto my ‘87 GN with good ol t-tops...

‘Ahh, it’s likely not worth nuthin.”

Todays news, (Begin copied portion of article.) www.autospies.com
“A 1987 Buick GNX muscle car with just 261.3 miles on the odometer has been auctioned for $205,000, the second-highest price ever paid for the model.

(Bring A Trailer)
The GNX was an evolution of the Buick Grand National and featured a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 officially rated at 276 hp, but suspected to put out much more, that made it one of the quickest cars in the world in its day.” (End of copied portion of article.)

Too funny. Here is our Toy. ‘87 307, 31k all original 1 family owner. From the West. Still has Ice cold R12 AC. Good thing I am not “Upside Down” on it and not able to make my “Big Payment”.

To be clear, a GNX was special, even compared to Grand Nationals of the day.

It’s gut wrenching watching them sell for $200k the last few years.

I remember when the GNX cost a fraction of that but I didn’t want to pay double the cost of a GN at the time. Boy did I miss out on a nice chunk of tax free money

Well we leave in an hour for the 3.5 hour drive to Tn and the AutoNation dealer. Appointment at 0830 tomorrow. Hope to be out of there by 0930 with the check. Will update you all Monday pm.

Hood is partially open due to the 4 amp battery charger still trying to bring the 2.3 volt dead battery up…48 hours of steady charging and it’s still not full! 🙄🤔

Any good news on your AutoNation dealings? They were my highest offer too but, like yourself, its a long drive and i'm nervous of getting jerked around. Fingers crossed for ya!

Sitting in the AutoNation dealer now as they update their offer. (The other one had expired.) So we will see if the offer goes up or not. I will post up with the final $.

Some interesting info, last month this dealership bought 1.5M in vehicles and as of today they have bought 1M already.

The buyer rep said this one would get CPO’d since its so clean and low miles.
More $$$ for the eventual buyer to pay!

So for giggles, I wanted to see what Vroom would pay me for my truck. I paid $59,500 back in December ($62,428 out the door). This is what VROOM is offering me now:

Same price for us. I was hoping it had gone up but nope. Oh well.
Glad that Vroom is offering more than what you paid!
Im just glad I don't have to wait to get the check, not that we are buying anything soon…

With the insane prices that used cars are bringing, I would love to sell my wife's 2015 Explorer Sport to one of these vendors as we planned to get her a new one this year or next anyway. You just can't find many new ones on lots. My local dealer has 1 Explorer on the lot. Crazy times.

I guess there's about to be a lot less people hanging around these boards!
Really. Now that I am "Ramless", I won't have a figurative "leg to stand on"... The whole deal at AutoNation took 1.5 hours. We left with the check, it's already deposited... That beats the uncertainty of Vroom even if I could make a couple grand more. Course I paid a couple grand more by purchasing locally instead of at K--Z up in Maryland...

However I have the wifey interested in a hemi charger or Durango now. She saw a 21' Durango R/T at AutoNation (for MSRP of $55K yet) and she asked me what I thought. I told her that with all the safety stuff, leather, upgraded engine she'd be happy.

Then she saw a black hemi charger and asked about that...

So maybe we will still have a Dodge instead of a Mahindra UTV...
