I previously had a 2014 Laramie which I sold to buy my 2016 Ford F150 Platinum. Traded that in today for a Limited maximum steel 4x4 with E-Torque. I didn't really want the mild hybrid but the dealer gave me a pretty great deal on it. It was ordered for the owner of the dealership and had 330 miles on it. I'll give my thoughts on this model as I put her though the daily grind.

Congrats! That looks like exactly what I want, except with Ramboxes and no etorque. Enjoy your new ride!

One full day down. Very pleased so far. The stop/start works very well. The fit and finish is great overall except for the chrome trim around the windows which looks like a 6 year old installed. How something so obvious made it through QC is baffling. Pics attached.

Are the headlights supposed to stay on all of the time? I thought the DRLs were just LED surrounding the lights?

Also, I've tried lowering the truck from the key fob, but the hazards just blink and it doesn't do anything. Any ideas why?

And the air suspension is a little funny. Granted, I haven't read the owners manual or looked in to it that much but from playing with it for the last few months, here's how mine tends to behave. If ive recently shut off the truck, lowering the truck from the fob works WITH the engine off. But outside of that, I do believe you need to start the truck first before it will lower.

Yeah, I think a lot of us assumed it would be something similar to how the Grand Cherokee's DRL's were, but...not so much. I assume they'll bump them up a notch in the mid cycle refresh like the 2018 F150

Hmm... It should lower when double clicking the remote. Engine does not have to be running.

Regarding headlights, there are two kinds. The always-on accent strips on the top and bottom of the headlight (bottom only on the lower trims), and DRLs. The DRLs are the actual headlights that operate at a lower intensity and need to be enabled on UConnect. The thin LED strips are always on, and very subtle.

Gehhh, I actually remembered to try this out this morning. After sitting all night, didn't do anything but after I drove it to work and shut it off, it lowered. Welp, my trucks broken, im going home and getting a beer. I gave working today an honest shot

Read the excerpt above. Hope that helps. Are you sure the vehicle wasn't already in entry mode?

I wonder if there will be a software update to brighten the LED strips, since those things are seriously dim...kinda begs the question of why have them in the first place if they're not visible? Unless Ram is trying to buck the trend of having eye searingly bright LED strips as accent lights...

I've been wondering if there was a way to brighten them. Maybe upgrading the LEDs in them to brighter ones? I'd much rather they be the DRL than the headlight to be on, even if it is dimmer.

That's because the searing ones you see on other vehicles are DRLs. These are just accents. Argree that they're not as bright, but they look great when it's darker outside without giving you a tan... :)

My truck definitely was in normal ride height mode, because I got in and lowered in manually without any issues.

Gotta love the Maximum Steel color... besides Patriot Blue it's probably my favorite color Chrysler does.

I really wanted the patriot blue, but this dealer didn't have any. This color was meh at first, but now that it's clean I LOVE it! It's blue, gray, black, and metallic all in one!

Another small issue I have is that I run both a dash cam and a radar detector, both need a 12V powerpoint which I had in my F-150, but there is only on in the Ram.

I'm thinking they are only getting a couple of volts of power. Hopefully an electrical guru will find a way to up the voltage if that's actually the case.

In Canada, DRLs are mandatory, however, certain LEDs count. My Charger, for instance, does not have the projector halogen lamps on at all in daylight, just the LED running lights.
