Is it possible to add Blind Spot?

These are the screws that I'm looking for.
the heat sinks/sensor combos i bought all came with the 4 screws, luckily... but any short coarse thread screw designed to go into plastic would do. could prob pick em up at the hardware store or Lowes/HD.
 
Quick update guys I have a little issue I installed BSM everything it's ok but when it's on in the menu appear a message says ( blink spot alert temporarily unavailable) someone can help me with it

Did you install new mirrors or lights? If you turned that on in Alfa and they aren’t present it will give the error message
 
Has anyone had success wiring stock tow mirrors for BSM? I’ve got original power folding, heated tow mirrors and have added the new mirror glass with the BSM indicator. I’ve searched and searched the threads. Is there a way to completely disassemble the tow mirrors or know of a workaround for the wiring into the truck?

I’ve got my BSM chiming, swapped out the mirror glass, and made the wiring harnesses. I connected the BSM light and ran that wire through the first hole into the arm but could not get the wiring through the next hole that leads into the door as the original wiring was too thick and then there is some kind of rubber grommet that makes it impossible without some type of work around or drilling.

Not sure where to go from here other than doing up the little cheap light on the inside of the truck.

I’m not familiar with the inner parts/path of the tow mirrors tho I can’t imagine it’s much different in there. All the wiring goes thru the arm from the glass and down thru a cylinder shaped piece that is also the pivot point for the mirror. On the regular ones there are a couple panels you can pop out to get access. But it’s still pretty tight.

There’s a vid on YouTube about completely disassembling the arms to replace those gears (for the power fold) but it’s for the regular mirrors. Might reveal some similarities? Pretty involved, but worth a look… found it:

Well, I finally got around this past weekend to trying again to take apart my tow mirror after watching the video. Great video no doubt, but the tow mirror is just too different to be able to take it apart like the normal mirror - on and off the truck completely at that.

I'm sure that an actual mech would be able to get all the way down to the motor on a tow mirror if it needed to be fixed or replaced, but as you can see in the picture it's pretty darn solid (not plastic inside) and I'm not the most mechanically inclined, lol.

Appreciate the feedback and previous DM assistance. I'm now going to try and wire snake it and see how far I can get.........

No problem! And That might actually be far enuff if you also take them off the truck. Getting from the top of that “pipe” where all the wires go, to the bottom and into the door was the worst part (even on the regular mirrors)

Well after multiple tries with different sizes/types of electrical wire, I finally succeeded in getting 22awg double wire to feed thru the top of the “pipe” and exit out near the rubber grommet. Proceeded to run that wire down through the door and connected into the truck in the exact same manner as 1.21gigawatts did on his write-up. After I flashed the BCM, the mirror light came on and I’m in business. (I did remove the mirror entirely from the truck to do this)
 
glad to hear it worked out!!... but as with alot of these "mods to add an oem system" you'll see how bad you actually want it once you're elbow deep into it hahaha.

BSM LED tail lights work with the 300AA harnesses on the left and right side if you depin pin 8(extra ground) on the driver's side.
 
Both my sensors are 68263397AE. What's considered 2020+?
Is 68263397AD Considered 2020+?
or is the 68263397AE the only part# capable of trailer length BSM for a 2022 1500?

I've looked through the thread a few times and haven't really found a concrete answer.
I'm having a hard time sourcing a AE Part off of ebay but there are plenty of AD's.
 
Hey yall I keep getting this message. I can communicate with the left side module but I can't with the right.. I have check the wiring multiple times. I think I am good. I have the new jump harness installed as well. I need help please

Does the left side harness have a wire in pin 8? If so remove that and it should work.
 
No it doesn't just has a white blank in there.
Have you swapped the sensors left to right? If you do and it reads the opposite I’d say it’s the sensor, if not need to test wiring. Are all 4 wires in the proper pin locations under the seat? Are they seated properly? That 1 sensor looks like it was grinded down? Sure it’s functional?
