My local dealer has been awesome for ten years and 14 vehicles, Jim Shorkey in North Huntingdon, PA. I'm really hoping this one is trouble free!
That dealership isn't to far from me. Will keep them in mind.

@LL247 the man doesn't pick the truck, the truck picks the man...that Rebel wanted you and I hope it treats you well.

Glad to here a dealer helped make things right.

Thanks for the info.

I was really excited to get my 19 Laramie 2 weeks ago, my 7th Ram and another of many Mopar vehicles. Actually my 14th brand new vehicle in ten years between Jeeps and Rams. What a let down.

To keep it short, I got to enjoy my brand new truck for a total of about 3 hours since I bought it. Driver's seat felt terrible and was told it's defective, dealer ordered a replacement. Next day, check engine light, dealer keeps the whole day. Get it back that evening, told light was just some bs codes. Next morning, check engine light. At this point I'm late for an appointment and decide to drive it and drop it at the dealer afterwards...until the truck starts to steer to the left by itself at 40mph. Yes, by itself. No, not an alignment issue, the truck's wheel pulling to the left unless I force it back. Take it back to the dealer, furious but not at them, they didn't build it and are trying to be as helpful as possible. They offer to cancel the deal and give me my 16 2500 Laramie (problem free since new) back to me, but assure me they can fix all the problems. My wife says let them fix it, I tell them to please make it right. Day after day, no real answers because Chrysler has engineers and protocols to follow, dealer's hands are tied. Finally get word on Monday that the Etorque battery pack is bad and needs replaced, but it can only be ground shipped from California, so a week minimum until it's here. After it arrives, things need reprogrammed, ect and it'll be a few days after. So now I'm looking at another 2 weeks...and we still have no idea what's wrong with the steering!!!

What fantastic quality, I bought a truck that is spending it's first month in the shop. My dealer (who has been great from the start) says they will talk to Chrysler about maybe doing something for us to make amends. I can tell you this, if they don't...I'm done with any of their brands from now on. So you guys know, I own a motorcycle shop and am far more understanding/patient than most people in these situations...but I've had it.

Hope to contribute to this forum since I always customize my vehicles...maybe someday when I get to drive the truck I paid for. Maybe tomorrow I'll drive through the service lot and look at my brand new truck sitting there and think of all the stuff if like to do if it was in my driveway.

Hello LL247,

I hate to hear you're having such a tough time with your new Ram. Has there been a case created on the Customer Care side? Send me your VIN within a direct message. I'll get one created and escalate to a Case Specialist for further handling.

Yes, there was a case started, and honestly it was Chrysler/Ram that was my main issue in getting the situation resolved in a timely manner. My dealer was phenomenal, but the handcuffs from Ram is what made me furious...not allowed to fix a totally separate issue until an unrelated problem is solved...even though the truck is sitting for over a week waiting for a part to be ground shipped? The ground shipped part was supposed to take a week, but the defective seat replacement took a week-and-a-half and it's STILL not at the dealership. So a slower shipped part I'd have to assume would be 2 weeks minimum. So after that's fixed they can start to diagnose the steering problem, and if parts are needed there, who knows how long it would be in the shop!

Not what I want to hear after not having my brand new truck for 2 weeks and only driving it for an 3 hours. Thankfully the dealership went out of their way to make it right, which is why I've purchased 14 brand new Chrysler products off them since 2009. I was hoping Chrysler/Ram would recognize that I'm a loyal customer who buys a lot of brand new vehicles, PLUS the truck was having problems in less than 24 hours of delivery, and try to make me happy. I was told maybe Chrysler would help with my payment as if that would pacify me...I should be happy a brand new truck that has been in the shop until the first payment was due was covered???

Sorry for the rant, this has been a bad experience, enough that I considered leaving the brand altogether. In my driveway is a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL, and a Ram...guess loyalty is one way.

Any issues on the new Rebel?

Zero. I feel so fortunate, but being a satisfied customer shouldn't feel fortunate... we should all be satisfied customers.

I love my Rebel... it's how I wanted to feel about my 16' and never could. But now I'm in a different class of truck, even though it's the same trim and same interior (not really) it's just a whole other level from 4th Gen.

Super happy. (y)

My new one seems to have no issues, very happy so far. Granted it only has a couple hundred miles on it, but I love it as long as it doesn't go sideways like the first one did.

This is all disturbing to me. I have a new loaded Laramie on order. That is just great news about the dealership. I had a similar experience with an F150 with death wobble about 10 years ago. Ford wouldn't do anything but the dealership tried everything they could. I know I am taking chances buying a brand new vehicle but I was hoping by waiting a bit they would work out the kinks. Have software updates. Figure out how to get the ordering process, website, and builds in sync. Give the workers a chance to figure out to do their jobs including testing. Any idea of the build date of your Laramie?

Things still good? I would assume you're too busy putting miles on your new Rebel to be lurking on the forum! (y)

Is this wind noise on the passenger side here and there? Or there all the time.

Every once in a while I'll hear more wind noise from there for 10-20 seconds and then disappear.

Have heard this as well. Pretty damn annoying... just another problem with this truck.
I believe these trucks have active air dampers. Could be a possibility if what you’re hearing
Good possibility.

Definitely not it. It's something with the HVAC, airflow from outside whistling in at highway speeds.

It is almost certainly the fresh air/recirc vent - however I can't figure out any pattern to when it opens. It is pretty loud when you're going 70+, and I've heard it on relatively short interstate trips in the first 30 mins.

Seems the most likely culprit, but mind blowing RAM hadn't seen this in testing. It's incredibly annoying if you aren't listening to music at high volume.

Update, still loving the truck and zero issues with the new one. Have been quiet since I own a custom bike shop and we've been getting crushed lately.

Riding nice with the Daystar spacer lift to add a couple inches to the stock Rebel height. Set of 20" Fuel Contra and 35" Toyos going on tomorrow with a muffler swap while on the lift.

Towing a couple bikes to Ocean City bike week this Sunday, plenty of seat time for a better report in a couple weeks!
