I took these of the pano roof drain tubes to show what “right” should look like as of a September ‘18 build. Note the inspection witness marks too.

I asked myself the same question about this. It's the first thing I see when I open the door or approach the truck. How does this make it past all phases of manufacturing, yet such a simple thing to do right the first time. I've tried to push this thing a gazillian different ways and it won't budge. I recall several vehicles I test drove with the same thing. Dealership wants to replace my whole door panel which I'm not thrilled about because I'm anticipating someone hacking the crap out of my door.

just found a new leak . Lifted carpet on drivers side. soaking wet. Brand new truck. Disgraceful

Just took delivery on Saturday. Went to dinner that night in the rain. Got home and noticed the back drivers side floor was damp. Felt under the carpet and we had moisture. Three hours old to me. Grommet is out on that side. I stopped payment on the check first thing this morning. I told the dealer to come get their truck. Spoke with the GM and he offered to replace all the carpet or find me a new truck. Not a big fan of replacing carpet on a new truck. Any thoughts?

Sounds like Ram is continuing to produce a bunch of crap from their factory. 9k on my truck and a couple of new squeaks, a rattle, and my start/stop had a fault today. I restarted my truck and it cleared but still.

Check and my grommet wasn't seated and the hole wasn't protected for the drain tube. I seated the grommet which seams to have repaired the issue. I wouldn't have known without the helpful folks on this form. Thank you!

New to the forum, I bought a 2019 Laramie and love the truck, but it is now back at the dealer for the 2nd time for a major water leak and I haven’t had it long enough to make the first payment. The dealership gave me a loaner Wrangler to drive but it’s NOT a Ram truck and I’m getting kind of upset about the entire deal.
I’ve been reading the forums because I was searching to see if anyone else had similar issues and apparently it’s widespread.
On the first time back to get fixed, they found the grommets put and fixed them. Within two days, both front and back carpets were soaked because of it sitting outside in my driveway in the rain. I wasn’t even driving it!
They tell me if it has to be returned for the same problem a third time, they’ll open a claim to replace it our buy it back but I’m not sure how that works.
It’s now at the point I’m doubting they’ll actually fix the problem and to replace it, well wouldn’t I just end up with another leaker?
I’m very disappointed in the build quality of “truck of the year” per Motor Trend.

Do you have the sun roof. They are a major source of leaks do to disconnected drain hoses.

Just to add, they did find an issue with the sunroof drain and grommet the first time I took it in for a leak.
That didn’t fix the problem.

I have no idea where the water is coming from but both front and rear carpets are soaked every time it rains.
It gets wet whether I’m driving it or it’s parked, so you tell me what the problem is lol.
The dealer has my truck now and they are working on finding the root cause.

When the leaks have been found and corrected, make sure your service advisor orders new carpet & pads---warranty will cover this for you.

I apologize in advance for the long post. I have had issues with leaks too. I picked up my 2019 Ram 1500 at the end of July, returning my 2015 Ram that gave me 3 trouble free years. In early September I discovered the rear carpets were wet, in fact they were saturated. I lifted the rear mat and found mildew on the underside and on the carpet. I read on this site about the dislodged sunroof drain tube grommets and discovered that one was dislodged. Given the amount of rainwater in the rear seat area I suspected that the grommet was not the only source of leaks. I took it in for warranty service, the grommet was repaired and the dealer found that the rear window was missing about 15 inches of sealant. The window was reinstalled properly and new carpets were ordered. The dealer informed me the carpets were not available and the manufacturer was stating they would not available until the middle of April 2019, remember this is September 2018. The service adviser sought the assistance of his District Service Manager but he was on vacation. I contacted with Ram's Warranty & Repair Help and was told a case manager would contact me in 24 hours, that never happened. About a week later I contacted them again and finally a case manager returned my call. She arranged to have carpets pulled from the production line and shipped to the dealer. Within a few days the carpets delivered and installed, as the tech was bolting down the driver's seat the nut, that is welded to the underside of the floor pan, broke free. The service advisor said he never saw this before. The truck had to go to a body shop where a section of the floor pan was cut out, the nut was re-welded in place, the floor pan was repaired and painted. Carpets and seats reinstalled and now the power rear window does not work. Because it's a new model the dealer did not have wiring diagrams and to obtain them from Ram. After 5 1/2 weeks the work was completed. The dealer had provided with me a loaner but it was a minivan and it did not fulfill all my needs. I had to rely on the assistance of other several times during the 5 weeks. The Customer Care Manager offered me reimbursement for 5 weeks of car payments or 2 years of oil changes and tire rotations. I felt that both were in order, the reimbursement since I was unable to use the truck and had to rely on others and the oil changes to compensate me for my bad experience. She refused and I took the reimbursement. A few weeks ago a started smelling a swampy odor; I looked/felt around and found the pads under the front carpet, both sides, were saturated. I have an appointment next week to have the dealer look at it. I contacted the Customer Care Manager via email to update her on the leak re-occurrence and got a reply that the case was closed; so much for customer care. Just as closing note my son dropped his 2016 Ram 1500 off for service today, the problem......... water leak.
