Hello,

I have the 2020 Ram 3.0L Eco Diesel and within 100 miles I had a check engine light. Original dealership was stumped so took it to a different dealership and the CEL went away after they reattached a vacuums tube. I know have the whistling noise every time I shutdown the vehicle. I asked about the issue at two dealerships but was not able to get it resolved. My issue is that it can take as much as five minutes for the whistle to happen. I also now have a vibration when turning right so going to try to get them to fix both issues this time. I have 13k on the truck now and it has never been without an issue. Little troubling.

Thank you all for this information. Hopefully it will help the dealership.

My ‘21 does this as well. Has anyone discovered a fix? Everything seems to be working fine so I’m not inclined to take it in unless there is a known fix.

Just took delivery on a 2021 Longhorn with a 5/2021 build date. Two weeks into ownership and 225 miles, and it makes the same eery noise. You would think Ram would have a solution after two years of complaints in this one thread, but Detroit keeps pumping out problems apparently. If Toyota, Honda, and Nissan can make Quality vehicles in America, it ain’t the workers, folks. It’s the engineers! Fell for the ride, gorgeous saddle interior, and Hemi. I hope I didn’t make a mistake buying a domestic after 30 years of imports. What the....

Finally took my 2021 ram 1500 to the dealer for exact same noise. After having it for almost 7 hours the dealer finally called me and said they b can't replicate, so won't do anything about it. Even after showing your video, my video and the fix from here. Apparently the reason your fix worked is because you might be in a different state, and that fix won't work here in Idaho, and the noise is something I have to live with!! After a lot of arguing they "found" a tech bulletin that aimed tech bulletin that said the expansion valve may cause a whistling noise. They said they will replace that and if it doesn't work tough. So it looks like 1. I will have a fight on my hands and 2. I will not use the main dealer for any non warranty fixes, ever!

I also have vibration in the rear drivers side door speaker. Sounds like something is loose. They are also refusing to do anything with that, as there is a tech bulletin to flash the Amp for noise in the stereo. The guy wouldn't listen that it is vibration not a noise. I feel like I'm dealing with clowns. And these ones are not funny.

Just got my squeak fixed. Took a couple of visits before they would admit hearing it. It sounded like my truck was crying every time I walked away!

The dealer replaced some O rings, the expansion valve, and did a full regen on the AC (obviously required after replacing AC components) now my truck is so happy that the ac blows stronger and cooler and it no longer cries when I walk away!

It definitely was worse if I used "Auto" on the hvac and the hitter it was and longer the ac was running the longer the sound would last

I do too. Took it to the dealer today at lunch and the writer heard it. Told him about the forum and this being on FB as well, Hoping they will resolve the issue. Wonder why Ram hasn't done anything about this. It's obviously been going on for quite a while.

Anyone seen an update to this? Dealer said they couldn't replicate the issue a few months ago, my truck makes the noise on EVERY shut-down this Summer.

Mine randomly does the same thing. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet but after finding this thread it will be going soon. I've got 75,000 miles on it now but it has done it since new. Not sure if my extended warranty will cover this but guess I'll find out.

Hi everyone,
Please send us a private message if this continues to happen as we would be happy to have this documented and provide you with additional assistance while your dealers look into this.

I have this happen constantly and dealer says they can’t fix it. It sucks because now my truck is out of warranty and is SUPER annoying…

2019 Ram. Has done it since new. Dealer said they could not reproduce even though it does it just about every shutdown when the AC is used. AC works ok so I didn't worry about it.

Same here, from day one. AC works good so why mess with it.
